I guess it can be classified as a variant then and not a separate game. Imho not really, because a variant is something released at the same time, based on the same technology but varies subtly (different logo, color or package). The new ball is a modern release and can't be compared to the original game&watch line. Michael

There can be no comparison because it isn't just a matter of battery power. Even though the old Ball and the new one look alike on the outside, their internal components are completely different. 9 months should be the standby time, if you play with the game a couple hours every day my guess is that the battery will run out in a couple of months maybe sooner.. Still, no way to tell for sure..

Well my original collection consisted of 60 boxed near mint/mint boxed items. I'd say that I've paid around 10K euros and that's because I've managed to get some great items for very good prices: boxed mint in mint mickey panorama for $500, boxed crystal screen games for 400 euros each on average, boxed special super mario for 800 euros, all silver games in mint condition for $400 etc. you get the idea. I'm afraid these prices are impossible to find nowadays so I'd say you'd end up paying about 15K euros maybe more.. It's very difficult to determine an exact price..

Graham you can check Patrick's game&watch auction database: www.gameandwatch.ch . It's a very useful tool because you can see end prices for a great number of game&watch auctions. This should give you an idea on what to expect to pay (on average) for each item. There are always bargains and expensive items of course and at the end what you'll have to pay depends on the standards you've set for the condition of games/boxes/etc. Michael

Welcome to the forum Graham and well done! As an old collector I'd like to offer a bit of advice if I may.. Don't spend too much on the games because the urge to sell them in the future will be great. Most old collectors who used to have complete near mint/mint collections have sold most of their possessions (including me, I've kept about 35 loose games and a couple carded/blisterpack ones only). It's a pity to see these collections go so I hope you won't go down that path! More on the collections area of this forum!
Anyway, which games are you planning to get? Good luck on your project nonetheless!!

Hmm.. that's very interesting!! That's the second Ji21 Bosch game - the first one we've seen is a turtle bridge! That's very rare - two limited releases under the same logo? It makes you think whether there are more games with a Bosch logo out there! Here it is: Michael

For some collectors they would seem out of place but I don't think you'd be doing anything wrong.. If I were you I would like to preserve the game in its original state though..

I completely understand and your best course of action is to neg the seller and report him to Ebay. You can also threaten the seller that you will do this if he decides to sell to someone else and who knows, maybe he will change his mind! Unfortunately even if Ebay banned contacting the seller via the auction page, anyone could still contact him directly through Ebay's messaging system and I don't think Ebay can do much about it I'm afraid. One of the perks of auction sites..

No, not really. I've bought a few out of curiosity mostly and the latest 3ds is a technological achievement so it's worth getting but they don't have to do anything with game&watch (maybe only design-wise).
