I've started I agree this new suggestion for the voting sounds good, because if there are 2 you really like, you can still give them points. BUT - to avoid 'tactical voting' - all votes should be PM'd and then the results announced in one go. Like I said before, with such a desirable prize, this isn't just lighthearted fun anymore! Andy

I already received a design and it looks great! (but I will ask the maker to upload it to this thread on december 27th) What? Ohhh my gosh, and I did not even start yet Patrick Better get your motor running! sAner I've started I agree this new suggestion for the voting sounds good, because if there are 2 you really like, you can still give them points. Andy Yep, my gf suggested the same thing when I told her about this new votingsystem. She said that tactical voting should be avoided. The more I think about it the better I think the new voting system is. sAner

I don't see why changing your images after the deadline would help you, other than giving you more time, but I suppose I can see your point. Perhaps all submissions should be sent to Mike/Pieter and they can upload them somewhere? Andy. That was exactly what I was thinking. The only thing you would gain is time (and you already had 4 weeks). Anyway, I have webspace enough so I would be happy to host all the pictures. Regards, sAner well I was thinking of quick "fix's" after compeditors have seen other peoples work... but then again if you leave it right up until the last min you can see others as well.... but you run the risk of not getting it in on time. I can see some benifit in sending photos etc, but be warned atm I currently have about 8 photos just for the one design.... and it's probably going to be about 10-12 by the time I finish it... at 50-100k per photo, that person is really going to get swamped, but I can't think of any other way of avoiding cheating... I vote we email the pics to whomever, and they host them, and create a new thread after the deadline, and we then post our votes there? -B

Of course if your 1st design is completely ready Brendan, you can email it to me or Pieter. The same stands for any other competitor. Me and Pieter will gather all designs and post them in a separate thread as it has been suggested after the deadline.
Btw, designs we've seen in here before DON'T count! Any such entries will be disqualified!

Have you decided whether, in this new voting system, members will be allowed to vote for their own design or not? In the real 'eurovision' system, you can't. Mike & Pieter I'm sure you're just as eager as the rest of us to see all the designs, but I've a feeling most people will leave it to the last couple of days, just in case they want to make any final adjustments! Have you decided whether, in this new voting system, members will be allowed to vote for their own design or not? In the real 'eurovision' system, you can't. Andy I would say, they can not. We decided to do the eurovision-voting-system and like you wrote; in that system you can't vote for your own design. So, no voting for your own design is allowed. My question is; should we make voting mandatory for the participants? That would spice things up, especially now Mike or myself will collect the votes through pm and voters can't see what other voters did with their votes. In theory a competitor can then decide his own fate; if he gives his biggest competitor (but he doesn't know that of course) the last 2 points needed. That should be fun, don't you think? Regards, sAner

Pieter in my opinion the voting should be open (eurovision-like always! ) for everyone to see. I don't understand why it should be hidden. It's not like anyone needs to apologize to anyone for his preferences!

Tactical voting can include not giving points to those most likely to beat you.....
But then again, there are quite a few competitors and not that many active forum members, so I think we should all vote to keep up the numbers.
It's your compo, Pieter, so you should ultimately make the decision. I guess looking at forum stats to see how many active members there are might help.
Andy.
