Sorry Andy, I did think at the time what I was saying wansn't right!!
@ Mike, no sweat, my points are more from a devils advocate point of view really. If I'm honest, I don't care much for either view. Sure I get mad when a game get pulled but I get over it and my day will come.
I understand your frustrations and some of the points you make and I also understand the points made from the other side. My main beef is that I think people pick and choose when to shout about it and that depends if its a game/thing they wanted or if they don't care for the person involved.
There is not any consistency, end of!
By the way, love the auctions you posted, bring it on!!!!!

No worries raffles. Obviously, there are no rules in here any more. Everyone is free to do as he /she pleases. Feel free to post links to auctions (really!).

Oh dear oh dear.
Mike, if you are really that bothered about 'rules' being broken, then you should make the 'no private offers' a rule and ban anyone who breaks it. The thing is, it was never a real rule here. Like I mentioned before it was an 'unwritten rule' or a half-hearted agreement, so you can't compare it with a real forum rule.
I don't expect you to do this, I'm just pointing out the difference between the two types of 'rules'

Well rules are made for all of us in order to make things better. Since nobody gives a rat'sass about that why should we have any ?
People, you're free to do as you please with auctions, Ebay, etc. etc. Just don't abuse the forum.

Err.. excuse me, have you just said that you're making outside deals because you can't win the item in a normal auction ? What, too fair for you Rene ? Jon may have abandoned collecting but he's entitled to bid in any auction he sees fit.

O yes he is entiteld to that, but the reason why a lot off people are making outside deals is because resellers are making it impossible to buy these kind of games. Like I said in an earlier post: The one who made the outside deal with the seller for this item (not me, but who cares) for a very fair price, would have loved to have this in his/her collection. He/she will probably never reach the goal.
Now you see why people make outside deals. Not only to make a gigantic profit, but also to get a great collection for normal prices.
Is everything a bit cooled down Michael? Take an ouzo tonight and relax. Ja mas !

That auction just takes the biscuit! Why, Jon? For the money?!
Ditto everything Rene just said.

Yep, I have to agree with everything René wrote. This is exactly the point of the whole issue.

Well, I didn't think that was a cheap price as the game isn't working! The price was pretty FAIR for the box/styrofoam/manuals as it ended @ GBP 214.99 (Reserve met) (Approximately US $375.09) so around $500.00 total as a LOOSE DK Circus can be obtained for around $120.00 these days or even $69.69: Donkey Kong Circus game & watch rare nintendo cgi.ebay.com/Donkey-Kong-Circus-game-watch-rare-nintendo_W0QQitemZ8258583632Kevin

Yeah, very cheap dk circus Kevin! This item loose has gone down a lot the last year or so and probably because it has appeared for auction more often than usual.
Guys, I disagree. Jon just bought one item. This doesn't make him instantly a reseller! Now, who's overreacting ? And I wouldn't exactly say that the price is a bargain! The other boxed ended lower than that!

The other boxed ended lower than that! Michael Wow, that must be a mighty slim line you have there between being a reseller or not. I've flipped two items, and you call me a reseller, but Jon does this (what you supposedly believe to be) once, and he's not? Oh wait, let me guess, 'I wouldn't understand' right? I'd have to agree with Paul on the issue of reselling. If people want to resell, that's up to them, not you. If you don't like it, ban them from your forum. That is within your authority, and you wont have to deal with their views any longer. But, if you're going to do that, be consistent, because I can think of one person in particular who's tight with you, and practically makes a living off of reselling G&Ws. He's still a member of this forum, and I can't recall you ever saying anything negative about them, so what gives? This is what I believe, people are getting tired of. The double standard, the black kettle calling, the hypocrisy, etc.... Like I told Rob Catron, being able to buy an item at a low price, and sell it for a higher price is good practice in any business. And when it comes to investments, it's the cardinal rule, buy low, sell high. I'm sure you've heard of it? Now, if I'm not mistaken, you, as well as others, regard their collections as investments, I remember reading somewhere where you said they will only go up in value, etc.... So, what's the problem here? If you think about it, resellers allow games to change hands, collectors (normally) don't. So, anyone who thinks resellers make it more difficult for collectors to complete their collections are wrong! Collectors who keep their games, and never sell, prevent that game from ever being available to anyone ever again. Conversely, resellers don't keep their games, so they'll always re-enter the mainstream, which, helps maintain the flow. And yes, at times, may make a bit of coin while they're at it. ;D AC

Aris, stop posting about the same issue everywhere, ok ? Why are you trying so hard to convince me or everyone else about what you can or cannot do ? Do you feel the need to belong somewhere ?
Anyway, you've been here, what, a few months ? Yet you behave like you know everything. Let me tell you that you know nothing. You're certainly in no position to criticize me, Jon or anyone else. You're also a proven reseller and you admitted that yourself just above. So, go whine somewhere else now.
This subject has ended.

Michael Mike, Hey man, I post wherever the issue is being discussed, not 'everywhere' as you claim. It's not my fault this topic is being discussed in different threads, that's the adminstrator's job to control. MP, while losing your marbles, it would appear that you're also suffering from a bit of amnesia. I HAD stopped posting in your forum b/c of all the hypocrisy, but, this whole thing with the PS Mario Bros. left me with no choice but to defend myself against erroneous posts in your forum. I was perfectly fine to be chipping away at the various high scores, and sending you and Torsten e-mails to add to your respective tables. I didn't agree with a lot of things, but realized is was a losing battle b/c of the 'old boy's club' mentality. Plus I was getting tired of trying to fight off so many of you at once, so I removed myself. But, once Rob informed me that he was told I was not very popular in the ebay community, and that I have a history of doing this BIN thing (yeah, twice, BIG HISTORY), I knew the trouble originated here. So don't ask me if I feel the need to belong. If you had better control over those three stooges, or what those three stooges could post in your forum, (or say to others outside the forum) none of this would have ever happened! As for the right to criticize, I have as much right as anyone else in this forum. And since I've taken quite a bit from various people here, you're d**n straight I'll be dishing it out! And lastly, this reselling thing, you've sold more games this month, than I have in my entire life! But wait, it's okay when you do it, b/c you're upgrading right? But of course! Now, the only thing I do agree with in your post, is your last line: This subject has ended. AC
