I don't think you have to justify your collecting rational Kevin, it's up to you. You could collect 100 MTJ for all I care. It is a bit greedy though edit; after reading Rob and Aris's posts. If that is the whole deal, then Aris is only guilty of chancing his arm with a checky offer and the seller said no but I'll deal at $60. He didn't try to convince him it was only worth that!!! I might not like it, but so what? Anyone want to take bets on how long this will run for!!!!?

Rob,
You should indeed have said "NO!" ... but you didn't .... Now can you blame Aris for that? Don't think so.

I must say this is a livly thread, now don't anyone go say somthing thats going to get them banned......
:juggler:
I tried looking for those stupid rules, and could not find them, anyhow now I know where they are. I think from memory I've only offered 2 items before bidding ended in the past, and inlight of the "rule" I should probably stop. I mainly just offer items after bidding has ended. which is good, as it does not appear to be in breach of there policy, we actually there policy is so unclear, you don't know what its there for, to protect the seller?, to protect ebays fees?, to protect the buyer?.... I suspect ebays fees is the most likly.

I have to say that this is an impressive scene and group of collectors. It reminds me a little of the SSI (Strategic Simulations, Inc) collectors that I know of in Sweden and the rest of Europe -- very passionate. Sincerely, Rob

Well this is my thoughts and i will probably get shot down but its a free world so here goes ;D True, I should have never been stupid enough to fall prey to this type of con game, and I whole heartedly assure everyone -- it will NOT happen again. This is one time that this easy going, calm headed eBayer with a huge international customer base, with collecting friends all over the world (ok, so they are Atari 8-bit friends) is not going to take getting screwed! Sincerely, Rob For a person with more than two thousand feedbacks and an ebay member for over five years you ought to know the things people will do to get what they want I certainly dont think you were conned in any way.....that just a lame exuse to cover the fact that you took your eye of the ball for a second....you are the seller and as always sellers call the shots If you at the time thought you were being conned you could have walked away, you cant blame aris for trying to get something that he wanted (even though it looks like a tank has run over the box ;D) Do i think aris was wrong for doing what he did? ?? Hmmmmm Yes and No........ Yes coz ethically and morally it wrong but not illegal BUT on the other hand no coz if it was something that i thought i wanted and could get cheap i would have done the same as aris I dont think there is anyone on this forum that can truthfully say they would pass up the chance to get something cheap........its the way we humans are when it come's to MONEY. Fire away ;D ;D ;D ;D

I'm sorry Aris Calling you a liar. What WAS I thinking :rolleyecrazy: I shall be checking the feedback on this auction with interest. And as for making profit recently, I'm not sure what you're referring to. I've lost money (and sometimes a LOT) on most of the last 20 auctions I've run on ebay. But thanks for your concern.

[/quote] I never said anything otherwise about the $60 number being mine -- so how can you say that it is I who is the liar? Okay, tell us the truth, you're really George Bush aren't you? I don't know why I bother...... Okay, in English, read the words after the word 'liar' in the post script of my post. The reason why you're a liar, is because you said 'we have a deal', then you reneged. Do you get it now? Let me know if you need me to type slower? Give it a rest and stop trying to blame me for your ignorance! Oh my God! What do we have here? Do my eyes deceive me? Are there a few more members here who possess that elusive common sense trait? Well thank God it's not just Paul and I! Pieter, once again, you're doing your user name Justice! Leigh, never heard much from you before, but, like Dev, you make a lot of sense (for the most part)! JWTW, apology accepted, just don't let it happen again. And if you're having problems selling items for a profit, perhaps buying and selling is not for you. You may want to stick to blowing instruments, or whatever it is that you do in the band. Aris out

That is the ultimate insult and went straight to the heart. I'll be honest, I sure didn't vote for him either time (but that's another topic all together!) I am giving it a rest, I'm tired. Sincerely, Rob

Hey guys! There's so many insults between users I can tolerate! OK ? Pieter, well, I can understand your views. We live in a free world right ? The problem is that our actions usually have an effect on other people. That means that you don't get the big picture. The problem isn't Aris. It's resellers and you know it. I have to say that my first reaction when I saw the BIN in that auction was "heck, another reseller got a rare item! oh, I can't put up with this any more!" because I couldn't remember that Aris is using the v6b username in Ebay. It was what, the 4th item this month ? How many pocketsize games have lived through the entire auction period the past year ? Anyway, you can understand that if we let resellers do what they want, we will soon reach a point where no rare game&watch items will ever be available in an auction until its normal end. Most sellers know nothing about the games and they're easy victims for them. Yes, sure, resellers are free to do that but we're free to prevent that as well, aren't we ? So, what's the argument here ? And don't forget that if someone offers good money then it would be impossible to convince a seller that he did the right thing which is something resellers rarely do! Of course most collectors would have done it in an instance as well but we're trying to change this way of thinking and set fairer rules for this game.. Ebay's option to include a BIN while an auction is running is stupid and against what an auction is all about (everyone's free to place any bid at any time before a specific time and the most willing person should win) and they've only done it because they get money out of it. Kevin, I've already said that it's ok if you collect duplicates for a reason (like what I've done with my shipping boxes) and different editions of games don't count anyway. On a different note, here's a cheap Egg: cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=8257914465Michael
