Personally i think its bad practice to be swapping backs of games. There are often slight differences in plastics colors as well as different manufacturing runs/series which really throws "mud" into the G&W pool. For example, I brought a Popeye with the ACL and ALARM buttons having the little silver bumps in there, normally this is a later series, but it arrived with a low serial number and a back half that doesnt really fit as smothly as it should, obviously it was "swapped" and im not partically impressed....

Yer, descression should be used or you will run into those problems. If the games have been looked after and kept out of the sunlight then in most cases the color is identical. With the new widescreen for example it's not really a problem as the back is different anyhow i.e white / green for DK JR.
I personal only swap them if they are a 100% match. swapping part from different series or different shades due to sun fading etc just looks bad.
However there is no more problems with swapping backs than there are with swapping screens parts, as color etc in them also vary wildly. Even the silver backing material is different in some cases.

true, for example there is a big difference in the strength of the colors of the backing screen in Parachutes...the early ones are a lot more faded and not half as vibrant blue in the water , for example....

Hee hee! With over 3 hours to go, I put in my maximum bid (which was the winning bid - **Fox - if you'd put in 126.02 you would have got it!** ) thinking I wouldn't get it anyway. Actually I hadn't planned on winning it at all, so I'd better go and find a way to pay for it Nice and cheap item, nonetheless! pulse8

Blimey O'Riley!! I really didn't expect to win this ;D: cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8106731119&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOAB:UK:6Ok, it's not "bargain basement" but it's got all the bits, and the box looks c9+ ish (not sure about the water damage on the back - doesn't look TOO bad...). Zero-rated seller . I'll check out Paypal's "protection" before actually making the payment. Am I right to think this was a good win?

I think you did well Jon, I was going to pay GBP250 for one in slightly better condition, and not even through the "security" of eBay... The deal fell through in the end. I also think that bidders with zero feedback tend to scare others away. If I had the money I would have bid. pulse8

Jon, nice item, I hope everything turns out ok! Paypal and Ebay's protection programme doesn't cover you when you purchase items from zero feedback users though..

Nice one indeed! I wanted to make a bid, but was a bit scared about the 0-feedback. He seemed like an allright guy though, he sent me some nice pictures and info. Hope all goes well for you Jon! Are you selling it cheap to your G&W forumfriends?
