The only problem with that is most people would know it's fake and want it anyhow.
We have to face the facts that some collectors just don't care and they see it as a nice way to present their collection, face it not everyone can afford a boxed ball or flagman etc.
I myself printed a few of the flyers from the arcade flyers site to present with my collection, as a backdrop to enhance it etc, now someone could argue for the same reasoning that I should not have peproducted it?
I'd probably feel a little better about it if the people reproducing it at least printed in big letters accross the back of the box "reproduction", but then again we all know thats just wishfull thinking and everyone doing it is unlikly to do it.
I say we get hard and start the "smackdown"
My idea of placing material in actions is a good way to start, I wonder what ebay would do if someone placed a few paragraphs in the listing explaining the situations, naming a few names and giving ebay a serve that they have done diddy squat?

I don't think that hobbymodel have the means to produce game&watch games just yet. Furthermore he always mentions that the boxes are reproductions why would he omit such information about the game ?
The problem with people buying hobbymodel's boxes is that when they decide to sell their collections they won't mention that the boxes and paperwork are fake. And we all know it. But that's not all! I've already seen the repercussions of what hobbymodel has done. Prices have started falling rapidly even for new boxed items and I've already received 2 or 3 questions from Ebay users asking whether my items are real since they can't believe that original items can be preserved in such condition!!! I wish there was some way we could stop him selling reproductions, I'm very furious with him right now!
Patrick, you did the right thing even if Nintendo don't decide to act. I'll do the same in a few days. I suggest everyone email Nintendo about this, it's very serious.

That 'fake' egg certainly looks rather odd but I suspect that rather than the whole game being a fake, he's attempting to maximise the resale value of a poor game by giving it a new serial number and battery cover, which aren't so difficult to fake given what we know about him so far.
Those questions you have received, Mike, are a little worrying but I suspect that they are the exception rather than the rule at the moment. We've discussed the demographics of collectors before and I suspect that the people who don't believe that such a good condition game exists are the people who have just started collecting, and are too young to remember the games anyway. If you are planning on selling any part of your collection in the future then these may become your only customers because I would think that most of the '80s generation have 'been and gone' by now. I guess the best thing to do in those occasions is provide links to other friendly collectors who can vouch for you and the quality of your collection.

I think the games are real, but not the b/c and most of all not the serial number. How about these games: November 19th 2006 Auction 220024751131 November 20th 2006 Auction 220024752039 Two eggs with sequential serials? - Patrick

Yes, it was Hobbymodel who sold them. The first one went to eBay member tarosuke2006, the second one to supra_8686.

Further info in regards to those egg games that hobby model sold. According to Mike's FAQ file the 24555 serial # is not confirmed that they belong to the egg game. I thought most egg serials started with a 0xxxx and they were some with the 22xxxxx or 23xxxxx range when the game was rereleased.
d**n this hobbymodel bloke. It's a shame that from now on you have to be extra careful when looking for a boxed mint game.

This was in his latest auction.. It seems that there's a pattern here and the b/c colour seems a bit off.. Michael

Do you guys think he creates serial stickers or do you think he peels them off less expensive g&w's? I would imagine it's very easy to create a fake serial sticker. That's probably the biggest flaw of a g&w and the easiest to fake. Besides; the serials looks too clean to be peeled off from another game, don't they?

It would not cost much to get a batch of serial numbers made up on micra ( I think thats what it's called), it's been discussed in the past...

Ok, an interesting development, hobbymodel sent me a message in Ebay explaining some things.. First of all he said that he's willing to print on the boxes the words "not an official product" which is better than nothing I suppose. Secondly he wrote that he made the foams yellow on purpose and that the battery stickers have the brand of the sticker factory on the back.
Now, about the above egg, he said that all games he has sold so far are original. The b/c and the serial numbers are original. I think he's telling the truth although I still have my reservations. I think it would be a good idea to let him visit so he can explain and answer a few questions, what do you think ?
