I could shoot myself. Bought and paid for this... cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=5937617580&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:ITYou may not be able to see the pic but it was for a YM-901-S and original instructions. I'll cut a long story short coz it's just too painful to go into at the moment. So I paid the guy US$730 - didn't hear another thing. Rensmits is in the same boat with me. Paypal refunded me US$45. Can't blame them for trying, I guess. I won't go into the "trusting people" speil - just unlucky i guess, but I will NEVER buy from anyone I don't know again. It's really soured my views on eBay - and collecting in general. pulse8

I really feel sorry for you Innis, that's terrible You haven't heard a thing from him anymore ever since then? Do you have a name or address? It's strange, he has got all these G&W items in his positive feedback. It's not like the regular fraud case where there are high valued items all of a sudden that have no relation with the previous items at all. I don't know the exact situation and don't want to create any false hope, but I've had 1 case where I bought a Game&Watch game, paid and didn't hear from the seller afterwards. Many other negative feedbacks followed mine and I though it was a lost cause. I sent him numerous e-mails and never received a reply, until much much later.. He sent me an e-mail to say that he had lost his paper with all his passwords for e-mail, ebay, ...and that he found it again. It sounds crazy, but at that point he had nothing to fear, no reason to send me the items after all if his initial idea was to steal money from me. I know, it's highly unlikely and my item wasn't of any value, but there's always hope. Was Rensmits item expensive? It's sickening that something like that happens. It feels terrible when you have good faith in people and then you get stabbed in the back. How little the hope may be, I still hope this can have a happy ending

im lost as to whats happened So am I, Leigh, so am I. @ Laurens - thanks for the vote of confidence matey. The emails (from both addresses) stopped on the day I paid him. I guess there is always some hope, but I've written it off now, so anything else I get back is a bonus. Rensmit's item was just a boxed DK valued at about US$70, but I guess it all adds up if he actually has done the runner... pulse8

That is a sad story. And for PayPal to only give you $45 back is an insult. They always go on about how you should use them so you have some 'protection' but when it comes down to it, the so called protection can be worthless, yet as sellers we still have to pay their high fees. Did you use a credit card through PayPal? Your one last chance is to ask your credit card company to perform a chargeback or 'remove a charge' from your credit card account. I have never had to do this yet and different credit card companies have different policies. But this would seem a pretty legitimate case where you have paid for goods which you have not received. In most countries I think by law credit card companies have to offer protection against this sort of thing. I would always use a credit card when using PayPal, as this probably offers the most amount of protection if you buy high value goods, although you still may have to badger them to refund the money until they give in! Maybe the maximium amount they could recover was $45 ws because that was all he had in his PayPal account??

Pulse8 sounds lile this guy only had $45.89 in his account otherwise they should have retrived it all (they can take the money from a credit card or personal account if its on file) I would have thought they would have other ways of getting the money for you (don't mean knee capping ). hope you do get it sorted to your satisfaction.

This is the homepage of the seller I think, not sure since I don't speak Swedish.... mymh.net/There is a diary with the last entrance at 12 January. Maybe Ulf or another Swedish collector can make something out of it all.

OK kiddies I've had a bit of a breakthrough on this with endless thanks to our good friend Ulf. I gave this guy's phone number a try, got a good indication that it was "Nik" who picked up the phone, but he hung up when I ended my broken Swedish and started on the English. Hmmm... OK so Ulf gave him a try, and he had a good talk with him. Apparently this guy Nik has been house-bound with a mental illness of some kind. Can't check emails, can't even leave the house! "The game is packaged up and ready to go, but won't be in the mail until next week. I understand that you have my address and phone number so there will be no further problems..."So far, an unbelievable relief, but I won't sleep 100% 'til the game is in my hot little hand I'll keep y'all posted on how things go... Quite a scare; certainly taught me a valuable lesson I can tell you. pulse8

If you are due any additional amount from the seller, please be assured that we will make our best effort to recover the balance from the seller on your behalf. Innis, first of all I'm glad that you'll get the item (as it seems) and that all seem to be ending well. Secondly, the above quoted part of paypal's email indicates that they will try to get the rest of the money back to you. If the seller sees that they've deducted the money from his account what do you think he'll do now ? And how did you manage to convince paypal that this is a lost case ? What information did they ask from you ? (So we know for future reference). What I would also like to know is how many days after you paid him, you filed a buyer protection claim with paypal. I know that when we pay large sums of money we get really anxious but some sellers are really slow.. And you always have to consider that there are real life matters that need attention and/or consideration so you need to be patient no matter what. Take note that some sellers check their emails only once in a few days (and again they might not respond) and that shipping from a country to another may take more time than usual so, as an advice to all, I have to say that you shouldn't be too hasty in your reactions and always leave adequate time for the seller to respond or to receive the item. Michael

Thnaks for all the positive comments, guys. Mike, to be honest, I'm going to take their proposal to retrieve more money somewhat with a grain of salt. Not that I don't think they will try, but I assume any funds they do retrive will be straight out of his Paypal account. I think I might have been the one to empty his account recently (with the $45), and any other funds that go in there will be after his "mental illness" is no longer incapacitating. By then, I hope to have received my game anyway. I filed the report with eBay as well as Paypal about 4 weeks after I had paid for the game. I thought I'd better make it into the 30-day window they seem to run their business around. If the seller had kept in contact with me at least say once a week or something, I wouldn't have been so hasty to submit a claim. I do completely understand what you are saying about being too hasty, Mike, but in this case I believe I had fairly good reason to. I'll keep you informed as to any progress. pulse8 P.S. Rensmits is feeling much better now, too, as he had no refund at all, albeit only about 10% of what I was chasing...
