Good work as always Aris! It would be interesting to start similar projects for other rare releases we don't know much about so if anyone's up to it..

[/IMG] Michael
Thanks Mike! I'd be willing to help out with any projects that get set up in the future! You know, we have a great G&W community here, but, sadly, despite all the visits on a daily basis by collectors from all over the world, it would appear that the vast majority of collectors here, would rather visit and stay silent, than try to help gather or even provide data for such projects. I'm not sure why this is, but, that has been my experience with the Serial Number Database project. As individuals, the data we can collect from our own individual collections are miniscule, like a drop in a bucket. However, as a whole community, information gathered from our respective collections can account for a great deal more! So, whatever projects you're thinking of starting up Michael, I can only hope that more than just the usual suspects end up contributing to gathering and providing the data. Let me know what I can do to help Mike. Aris

Aris, as you perfectly know, I'm unable to start any projects for the time being! Free time is a non-existent term for me atm! Of course I'd be willing to offer my help to anyone that might want to start one!
I agree that we have a great community and we've achieved much in the past. Just take a look: An unofficial FAQ, battery, pocketsize and other faqs, serial number project, ebay auctions database, fake g&w items database and information for almost anything related to g&w. This information is readily available to any (new or not) collectors and it's a great achievement. There's still room for improvement though because everything needs constant updating and only with the help of all collectors can we manage that..

I think in the past those games have usually gone for between 100 and 200 USD, which seems surprisingly cheap for such a rare piece, but maybe that's because not many know that it's special.
Anyway, good luck with it!

Aatifk,
Ash's information is correct. They normally don't go for more than that, especially if loose. I recall a couple going for less than $100 as a matter of fact!
As for what to offer, well, I can PM you an amount, which is probably best since, as you say, he may eventually find out that it is rare, and if he does offer it to others, then, there's a good chance those "others" may be members here, which means they will know what you are going to offer for it and can easily snatch it out from under you!
Check your Inbox. I sent you a price to offer.
Can you do me a favour? Can you tell me what the serial number is on this White SS game?
Thanks,
Aris

BREAKTHROUGH!
This is to update on our hypothesis that the highest Super Color game series is 1400380.
I have beaten that number. Now i have sighted a White Crab Grab with the serial No 1400544. I have been hunting this game for more then six months and i finally managed to "Grab the Crab" this week. So now we have two known White CRAB GRAB. Could this suggest that there were 164 White CRAB GRAB produced from the serials we have? We can lengthen our hypothesis with this one i guess. Are there more White CG within the Serial 1400382 & 1400544?
Now the important one. As before i would like inputs from the mentors in this forum as to what price should be offered for this Rare One. Its a beautiful piece. I just cant let it go. Can anyone assist me with the price please and on an urgent basis.
This is only for the loose game without box or instructions.
Aris you can update the database with this serial.
My 6 months of wait and persistence have paid off.
And am really happy that we have a new beginning to this topic.
Need replies.. Thank you..

Hi Aatifk, Congratulations on the remarkable find! I know it's been pretty dead in this forum lately, I hope people will start coming back. Can you post a picture of the white Crab Grab here? I'm pretty sure more than two of these have been found, but not many more. Maybe about 5 including yours. But this might not be accurate. These white Super Color games usually go for much less than I think they should, like in the $300 to $400 range. Some of the Spitball Sparkies have gone for even less. But the serial number gives yours a special uniqueness. So you haven't purchased it yet and you're asking here what offer you should make? What country is this game coming from if you don't mind me asking? Well done!

Hi Ash
Thank you for your reply. I dint have replies so i went ahead with the sellers price. You will be amazed to know that this game is found again in India! I dont know how did these games land up there? Probably the immense immigrated population on their way back got these games for their loved ones. I am really lucky to have found this piece. How do i post pictures in this forum? I think quick reply does not allow that. What do i have to do to upload picture?
Thank you once again.

I just did a little more research and found that, while there are about 10 white Spitball Sparkies we know of floating around, your Crab Grab might only be the second or third that people on this forum have seen. One was purchased by Devster in 2008 with box and bits for $375, while another was sold by Devster (loose?) for $103 in 2009. Not sure if it's the same one or not. I'm sure Aris has more details on this. I use photobucket to post pics here. If you don't have an account, just send the pics to me and I'll post them for you.
