I'm native french, so if you know more or less on which page the info could be, maybe someone who has the book could scan it and send it to me, so I can translate in english. I don't want to break any copyrights, so that's why I'm talking of, for example, a single page, sent by PM, so it won't appear in the forum.

Hey guys, Sorry I haven't been too active in the forum lately, this new database thing really is a lot of work and will continue to be work in progress until the day I die, ebay dies, or I get bored. ;D I've been re-reading this thread b/c I couldn't remember everything we discussed. You mean Ramrodius Aris? I don't have his email or anything.. Btw, I got my white sparky from a UK seller who originally found it at a fleamarket. Maybe the white sparky was only sold in Europe? Regarding the batches of games, I don't think the number was constant. I mean besides the first batch of a game's production, the number of games in consequent batches must have been based on orders from worldwide distributors like CGL, Futuretronics etc. Michael Yes it was Ramrodius that I was referring to Mike. But, after re-reading everything, we now know that we have the serial number from James' (Ramrodius's) WSS. So, there are two known white SS games that we do not have the serial numbers for: 1) The collector Andy got his white SS game from 2) The one Taki has Andy, I know you already inquired with the collector you got your white SS from, but, any chance you can nudge him again and see if he'll give you the serial number? I'll follow up with Taki on his. I know his last msg. to me said he wasn't sure when he would be able to access his collection, but would definitely give me the serial to his white SS as soon as he can access the games. Yay!!! I hope it's soon!!! No new news regarding the serials I've been collecting for the Supercolour games. Right now, I have 172 SS serials and 77 CG serials and the facts are still as follows: - The lowest serial number for a Supercolour game is a Spitball Sparky game with serial S1003307
- The highest serial number for a Supercolour game is a white Crab Grab game with serial S1400380
- Only one known white Crab Grab game exists and it is owned by Olivier (Gameandwatchfreak - ebay ID)
- Seven known white Spitball Sparky games exist and the owners are: Paul, Mike, Andy, Northfrost, Taki, James (Ramrodius) and the collector Andy got his from.
- We only have serial numbers for five of the known seven white SS games.
- Lowest white SS game serial is S1386042
- Highest white SS game serial is S1389220
- There are no known silver SS games whose serial numbers fall within the lowest and highest known white SS game serial numbers.
- If all white SS games were produced consecutively in a straight run batch, then, AT LEAST 3178 white SS games produced.
Can anyone else here provide me with the serial numbers of their Supercolour game(s) AC

Hi Rene, I've added your serials to the database, thanks very much for providing them to me. I am trying to also identify (where possible) what version/release these games are too, so, if any of these games are Italian, CGL, Japanese, French, NOA, etc.... Can you let me know that too? Thanks again! AC PS I'm also working on a database for the serial numbers of all G&W games, so, if you ever find yourself somewhat bored, and feel like taking all your games out of their boxes, I'd be more than happy to receive a post from you (or you can send me an e-mail directly to arisc@rogers.com) with the serials of all your games. You can even do them by Series, if you prefer.... ;D

Hi all,
I was browsing through ebay in search of a new camera and I saw something in a description that could be interesting for this topic. This was the interesting part: "THIS CAMERA HAS A GRIP SENSOR!!! THE CAMERA WAS ORDERED FOR ME FROM JAPAN. I DID NOT WANT TO BUY THE EURO VERSION WHICH DOESN'T HAVE THE GRIP SENSOR.THE GRIP SENSOR WORKS WITH THE EYE START AUTO FOCUS MECHANISM IN ORDER TO MAKE AUTO FOCUSING INSTANTANEOUS AND FASTER. SONY HAD TO REMOVE THE GRIP SENSOR FROM CAMERA'S SHIPPED TO EUROPE BECAUSE THE GRIP SENSOR WAS MADE FROM A NICKEL ALLOY.A VERY SMALL PERCENTAGE OF EUROPEAN PEOPLE ARE ALLERGIC TO NICKEL. IF YOU ARE NOT ALLERGIC TO JEWELERY AND COINS, YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE A PROBLEM.EVEN IF YOU ARE ALLERGIC, YOU CAN EASILY COVER/REMOVE THE GRIP SENSOR.ALL A700 CAMERAS SHIPPED OUTSIDE THE EUROPEAN UNION FROM JAPAN HAVE GRIP SENSORS".
This was also known in the 80's-90's. So could this be the answer

I think these "alloy" or "metal" based theories are far more likely than our previous thought "error" / "ran out of paint" theories. ;D I guess the only other thing we may find out is if Flo is able to get any secret information out of this contacts in Japan.... But if the problem was with countries in Europe wouldn't the number of white games be greater than the number of around 3,000 we assume were created by Nintendo?

I thought that the 'Silver paint ban' was an excellent theory when it was mentioned by Taki. This information adds weight to that theory, if it is true. As for the numbers, I guess that it would depend on each country's health and safety laws, and whether they banned the paint. It's strange to say that only European people are allergic, I think the case may be that only specific countries banned nickel paint, regardless of where the allergic people are/were. Am I right in thinking that all/most of the white games we've seen have surfaced in either the USA or UK? Perhaps it was the UK where the ban was? This is all speculation, of course, but I might have a look for information on nickel paint bans Andy

Well, I got mine from a UK seller and he bought it locally so we might be on the right track here.. Still 3,000 games seems to be a rather small number..

Hi All, SS: 1247637 CG:1281114 Well, since it's my first post on the forum: greetings from Poland :-) Cheers, Thanks MSO! I've added your numbers to the database. I don't know if your Supercolour games are boxed or not, but, if they are, can you confirm if they're standard (English instructions) Japanese (JAP instructions) CGL, OTO, etc..... Also, if you have other game serials, feel free to send me a PM (personal message) with the details. Thanks again! Aris

It has been a while since we last discussed serial numbers, especially serial numbers for the "white" version of the Supercolour series of games. As some of will recall, there is only one known white Crab Grab game, and it was a fully complete boxed version purchased by Paul (Devster). As luck would have it, Paul inadvertently sold it loose, thinking it was a loose version of a white Crab Grab game he had, and only realized his mistake when he went to look at his boxed white Crab Grab game, and saw that a white Spitball Sparky game was sitting in there. Anyhow, the reason I'm bringing this up, is because the serial number on the only known white Crab Grab game is S1400380. It's the highest serial number for either of the Supercolour games that we have on record, and is the only serial number that crosses the S1400000 threshold! The next highest serial number we have is for a Spitball Sparky game, and its serial number is S1394967. Well, I found another very high serial number on a Crab Grab game, but, unfortunately, it's not a white version. It has serial number S1398210, and it appears to be a French version, based on the sticker covering the top end flap and the writing on the back of the box near the very bottom. (though, the instruction manual is in English.... ). So, this is the second-highest serial number we have for a Supercolour series game! Here's the link: cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320552012833&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:ITTwo white Spitball Sparky games sold fairly recently. One was Ramrodius's (this is the one that was boxed complete with Italian paperwork) during the first week of June 2010, and the other was a loose one from an Australian seller back in April of this year. The winner of Ramrodius' white SS game, ironically, is the same person who has the second-highest known serial number for a Supercolour game. His ebay ID is Lcsaba. Now, I don't know if he ended up selling that high-serialed CG game, but if he didn't, he's got a couple of rare pieces in his collection! EDIT:
I just found out that this Lcsaba guy is also the guy that won the Australian's loose white SS!!! So, this Hungarian collector is the only known collector to, currently, own two white SS games! As for the Australian guy who listed a white SS game back in April, I did manage to strike up a conversation with him, and while he couldn't remember how or where he got the game, he did give me the serial number of his white SS game, and, no surprise here, it fell right in-line with the other white SS game serial numbers. Here's the list of the serial numbers for white Supercolour games: Spitball Sparky:S1386042 - Paul's loose white SS that used to be Taki's and Mike's S1386333 - Northfrost's white SS S1386797 - Lcsaba's loose white SS sold by an Australian April/10 S1387548 - Andy's loose white SS S1387599 - Mike's boxed white SS S1389220 - Lcsaba's boxed (OTO) white SS that used to be Ramrodius' There is also one more known white SS game that Taki says he has, but he has not provided me with the serial number for it yet. Crab Grab:S1400380 - Gameandwatchfreak's (Oliver) white CG that used to be Paul's If anyone else owns a white Supercolour game, (or any Supercolour game for that matter) and would like to have it added to the database I've been working on during this last year, please do not hesitate to provide me with the information. Every little bit helps! BTW, the database is 22407 serial numbers strong, and the top ten rarest games that we have serial numbers for are: 51 - Crystal Balloon Fight 65 - Mickey Mouse Pano 67 - Flagman 68 - Super Mario Bros. Special 69 - Snoopy TT 71 - Popeye TT 77 - DKC Pano 80 - Mario The Juggler 80 - Judge (Green) 82 - Judge (Purple) AC PS In case anyone's wondering about Egg, we have 108 serial numbers for Egg. So, it would be 12th rarest after CSMB - which we have 89 serial numbers for.

Very interesting information Aris and I'd like once more to congratulate you on your work! The last bit of information is peculiar because I've seen many mickey mouse and donkey kong circus panorama go for sale the past couple of years. Does that mean that the same games are being sold over and over again? And what about the tabletop games in the top ten? I would never place them in the top ten! Surely not 7 places above Egg!!!!!
