Pieter, where have you been Haven't seen you for about a month! Good to see you here again, mate OK one way to do it (there may be another way ) is to place a marker on the spot you want; click on the little drawing pin icon down near the bottom right. Then when the New Placemark window comes up, click on the Advanced check box, and then click on the location tab. The co-ordinates will be displayed there. Hope this is understandable! pulse8

Hey Innis, Ehrmmm .... I have been busy with my other hobby's. Anyway, this is the location of my house: 52°42'48.64"N, 5°16'10.18"E It's VERY low-res ... Here, 52°42'24.19"N, 5°16'52.73"E, you can see the old defence structures surrounding the old part of my city (Enkhuizen). I live in the newer part, which is just above it. You have to zoom out a little to make anything of it. Have you seen the pyramids in Cairo? 29°58'33.35"N, 31° 7'49.88"E Fantastic! I have been there in 2000 and you can see how very close they are to the city of Cairo. Lady Liberty, NY, USA: 40°41'21.12"N, 74° 2'40.23"W Good stuff and well explained Innis! Later! Pieter

That'll keep you going for a few minutes. pulse8

Here's the Olympic stadium where last year's Olympic games opening and closing ceremonies took place: 38 02' 09.93N and 23 47' 15.50E

Here's one I've been looking for, for a while....
Uluru/Ayer's rock: -25.345 131.034 (paste that coordinate into the search bar.) It's good in 3D mode. Also close by is the lesser known, but just as fascinating Kata-tjuta rock formation. Kata-tjuta is aborigine for 'Many heads' and you'll see why. -25.2999 130.76
+/- is easier than N/S and if you are lucky enough to have a calculator like mine that has hour/minute/second functions, they can be used to convert degrees/minutes/seconds in the same way. That's how I got the 25.345 etc.
