Changi airport is the business, isn't it? I remember the massive expanse of space in the arrivals area, and the people asking you a questionnaire about how you found your 'experience' of the airport. Maybe I'll see you in the UK if this meet goes ahead. Looking like a big IF at the mo.

For those who don't know, it's in Singapore. A LOT of flights from Europe to Australasia will stop there, so it's a BIG airport. If you've going the other way, it would be LAX in Los Angeles.
Changi has been voted the worlds best airport on numerous occasions.

Hey kiddies, I'm in Krakow, Poland at the moment, staying with my Aussie/UK mate Ben in a hostel. The weather is slightly more brisk than the 34 degrees I left behind in Melbourne, with this coming Saturday's forecast being -7 to -12 This, though, is offset by some of the most beautiful female specimens this planet has to offer, so I no complain! Sorry for the brief post, but just wanted to touch base. I'm off to Amsterdam this coming Monday. Plenty of fun to be had in the mean time pulse8

Hi Innis, It's good to hear from you! Cricky .... -12!? Well, here in Amsterdam it's now +15 or something, so that's a lot better (altough it's getting colder this weekend). Too bad you won't arrive in NL in the weekend. Regards, sAner

Well, you wouldn't probably know the name, it's a town 300kms northwest of Athens. They usually have snow during christmas or at least there's some on the nearby mountains!

We in NL only have snow during x-mas every 10 years or so! sAner Here in Montreal, we get snow every Christmas ;D Yesterday, 40 cm in 10 hours ! Crazy ! I agree, HK airport is really impressive. I'd say before Changi, and then Narita (Tokyo). Chicago Airport is incredibly BIG ! I'd have loved to know the other HK Airport when the planes landed between the big buildings . So sad I missed it, one year too late

Cedric, The architect of HK's new airport is Sir Norman Foster, so it must not be too bad The old airport is a narrow strip of land in the harbour closely surrounded by urban high rise. Landing on it, particularly at night with the lights of buildings just below the plane, is an exciting and unforgettable experience for most passengers but very challenging for pilots. It was partly due to luck that no major accidents occured there during its operation. But but like you, most people in Hong Kong missed this unique airport when it ceased operation in 1998. lio
