Leigh, I doubt you have the right to tell this seller anything. He doesn't mention anything about the foam in his auction. In fact, he didn't even tried to hide it since he clearly says that "this auction includes the box, the game, the instructions and the plastic bag"!

HI I would leave it alone aswell. The same thing has happened to me many times, but it is my fault for not asking the seller about the full contents. Just don't leave him feedback.

Just to say I like Aldrin, and he has a BRILLIANT game and watch website: www.precise-it.com/gwcentral/I am surprised he didn't make it more explicit that the foam wasn't included, but he certainly didn't lie. Just goes to show, you HAVE to read the descriptions carefully. I always try to work out what the seller has (deliberately) neglected to mention....... But don't knock Aldrin, he's not a conman.

Hi
I wont be doing any complaining as i should have asked before i bid.......but as he is a collector of G&W one would have though he would have mentioned the poly was not included.
Not to worry im sure i will find a loose poly to fit.

In my opinion "box" means the outer AND inner part.
From what I can see Aldrin is an experienced seller/collector and in my view it was a bit naughty of him not make clear the fact the poly was missing.
It's ironic how some sellers describe their items. The boxed Silver Fire I sold months ago has since been resold on eBay at least twice. Not once did the sellers happen to mention that a large end flap to the box is missing.
Although it's sad, sometimes you have to ask the most obvious questions about an item before bidding.

Aldrin is a experienced seller/collector that's why i did not ask him any questions.........even on his current auctions he even mentions little details about "complete with battery cover and serial number etc" even though the pictures all show this.

Aldrin may be a nice guy but he really bends the rules here. As an experienced collector he knows the poly insert tray is a vital part of a complete g&w. He should have at least said that is was NOT there. Not mentioning something doesn't mean you're not lying. I have to disagree with Michael on this matter. Like QJ, I think the term "BOX" without mentioning anything means "A box with all the flaps AND the poly insert tray". Aldrin didn't mention the tray ON PURPOSE and we all know it. I am really beginning to start to dislike e-bay because of such ebayers. All the best, sAner Ps-And even though inserts are not that hard to find and are not that expensive; it's the idea that's wrong. Pps- Look at this auction: cgi.ebay.nl/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3155158470&category=2541I like Christoph, but to call this an Eccelent in box item ... Just look at the poly ... who ate half of it? Anyway, at least he shows a picture of the poly insert tray.

I think the most overused words in game and watch auctions are "mint" and "rare".

Hi fellas!
Well after some initial problems trying to register here,as you can see I'm now in! Sorry to bring up one of the older posts, but I wanted to add my 50 Cents into this one.I think Leigh has every right to feel a little disgruntled with this transaction! If this game had been bought from a 'Non Collector',I still wouldn't be too pleased ,but I would put it down to experience and get on with life making sure that I was more vigilant in future. You really do need to read between the lines with ebay, but in this circumstance I can empathise with Leigh as all (to my eyes anyway) appeared/seemed all good and above board. However this item was from a known collector- this I find inexcusable! I feel that this was a deliberate choice to mislead. If you go back and read the description- Sure! there is no remark made about the Poly Insert, but I feel that this description has been left very water tightly ambiguous! A fellow collector should such as Aldrin should have known better! And I don't think there is any excusing this.If I was Leigh,I'd have asked for a partial refund- no matter what the price I picked it up.Leigh won this item fair and square.Aldrins choice to deliberately mislead is unforgivable! Right guys,I'll put my wig back on now!
* Well just letting you also know that I havn't completey given up collecting either! I got fed up with the awful finishing prices of my auctions- I chose a really crap time to sell up!,so I decided to keep 5 games which I WAS & DID try to sell- these being.. DK / DK II / DK Jr / Mario Bros / Pinball Pocketsizes.I've made enough money now,and as circumstances have now changed a little for me now,I've decided to keep these little fellas to kick start my future collecting in some time to come. There's only a few games that I really miss not having.I just wish I knew that I was going to keep these few back,as I'd have rearranged some of the Paperwork contents. Oh Well!
It's nice to be back anyway! I may have a ridiculously crap collection of 5- but still it's a nice way to start off agian!

Welcome back Ross!!! I am glad you picked up collecting again as collecting g&w's isn't the same without nice guys like you. sAner Ps-btw; the 5 g&w's you have (being pocketsizes) IS a great collection. I value your collection of 5 better than my collection of 33.

Welcome Ross. At last, you made it! I have a totally different opinion on Aldrin's auction. In my opinion, there's no proof that he deliberately neglected to mention that there was no styrofoam with the item. You can at least give him the benefit of the doubt. Anyway, a seller can write whatever he likes in his auctions. It's up to you to read his descriptions carefully and ask questions about them. Michael

Michael, was it not you that once won a boxed Mario The Juggler from a well known UK seller and when it arrived it had no polyfoam?.....and if I remember correctly you were very disappointed to the extent that you asked the seller for a partial refund - but in the end he actually sent you a foam (I assume from another one of his games).
You should not have to "read between the lines" when buying from experienced collectors or regular Game & Watch sellers - there is NO EXCUSE IMHO. I'm not suggesting that Aldrin is dishonest, it could be perfectly plausable that he genuinely forgot to mention that the inner part of the box was missing - but a good seller will always try and discuss the issue with their buyer.
