What a twit. It must have taken him hours and hours creating that blog on how to wipe hundreds of dollars off a game's value!

I have seen the pictures clearly and that is my opinion. Feel free to continue your investigations of course but based on what we have now I still think it's been caused by something external. Lets say, for example, being submerged in a dirty bog or some engine oil or something. Left long enough in the right substance, the plastic would absorb some of the liquid and would discolour. The metals and glass, etc would not. The reason we haven't seen any more like this is because nobody has ever buried their game in whatever it was that caused this. Again, just my opinion.
About the white crab grab, there are of course plenty of examples of white supercolour games, so I have no argument there. I own a white spitball, you may know.

Hi Aatifk.
The colour of the 'Green' manhole does not match any other game perfectly, so in my mind this rules out a factory mistake. The reason for the colour is glaringly obvious when you see all the other damage and dirt on the game. This is discoloration by external sources. End of.

Looking at those pictures, the inside photos are a lot more blue than they are green. They are certainly not the same green, say, as a donkey kong Jr. In my opinion, this is a standard blue manhole that's suffered severe discoloration by means of prolonged exposure to some outside source. Jusging by the look of it, it's been underwater or underground for a very long time. That would prefectly explain why the outside is very green and the inside not so much. If this was a mistake at the factory, the inside would be the same colour as the outside. Aatifk, I can understand your initial excitement, but I think you're clutching at straws. Mistakes sent to India? Andy

In the UK we have to pay import duty (about 6%) then VAT on top of that (20%) and then at least one handling charge, possibly two. My worst experience was when I purchased a loose Flagman for $450 (yeah, I know!) and the guy insured it for $500, so the customs fees were based on that. At the time, I think it was about 80-100 pounds on top. Ouch.

Don't forget, that some research by a forum member a while back showed that the numbers on the OEM boxes are just the code for the box design which you can still buy today from the box manufacturer. It's very possible to buy a YM-105 in a tatty box for $50, buy the white box for a few pence/cents, then make a huge profit. This, and the fact that nobody has ever produced any hard evidence that these boxes were in any way official makes me continuously wonder what all the fuss is about with these 'editions'.

No way this can be legit! That must be at least 4 times the previous record for a DC-95. If someone was THAT desperate, they could have just approached another collector with $5000. Andy

The Pocketsize pamphlet suggests that DK Circus was released in North America first, because Mickey Mouse Pano is not included. That would make perfect sense.

It may be similar to the egg/mickey mouse where one was sold while they sorted out the licensing, then they sold the other (or both).

That's really great, I would have no problem at all with letting him write on my copy. I had a similar opportunity recently. I met Dave Prowse (Darth vader in Star Wars) and I got him to sign the flight controller on my Star Wars gameAndy

Hi all
I just purchased an ipod touch and one of the first things I did was check for G&W related apps. I found an app called 'G&W collect' which allows you to catalogue your collection, share with others, provide you with valuations, allows you to buy and sell games within the app. I haven't done much with it so far, but it seems pretty useful, and it's free. I didn't find any G&W games apps but that's not surprising I suppose.
Does anyone else know of any G&W related apps?

Yes, crikey, that's nearly 8 years old, that thread! So, I got the gist of it wrong but as you can see, it was definitely 10,000, not 11,790. That was the intention anyway. Who's to say that someone at big N wasn't feeling generous and said "What the hell, give all 11,790 of them a game!!" LOL! Andy
