Question of MY day! I know you guys always look forward to these questions! It's okay, you don't have to admit it! Anyway, I recently got a Turtle Bridge which is a first edition box and has the serial number on the flap. Well. when I opened the box I found a paper slip(same size of a caution slip). It was not a Caution or How to play sheet, but a plain white sheet which says: Note: Error in No.6 of Game A has been corrected as follows. Where player reaches a bonus score(successive units of 200 or 500), any miss marks indicated at the time are erased with a fanfare and game continues. If a bonus score is reached with no misses, game goes into "Chance Time" for 20 to 40 seconds. Turles do not move and fish do not appear. 820218A Since this is my first boxed Turtle Bridge, I am not aware if this slip came with all the TL-28 models. Is this a common paper found in all Turtle Bridge boxes? Also, Do other games have errors as well? -Matt

No, it's not a common piece of paper found in Turtle Bridge boxes! I've only ever known a similar piece of paper which read the same but was in a different language (in Japanesse if I remember correctly), which I believe Ross (L.I.D.) had in one of his games (I think it was Mickey Mouse MC-25).
It's rare so worth holding on to.

Did I stumble on something RARE!!! The white paper is in English. Does this mean my Turtle Bridge game itself is unique? -Matt

Matt - I would be grateful if you could let me know the serial number for this game plz ...I'll add it to my list with a remark beside it. Your Turtle Bridge game itself is not unique, it should be identical to any other release. Did you get the instruction manual with your game? I think it's the first release instruction booklet which had the printing errors which is why the amendment slip was added. Take a look at Torsten's site www.intheattic.co.uk/turtle_bridge.htm and look at Page 4 of the manual on his site. Is the 200 500 part mentioned the same in your manual? I'm not sure exactly when they realised the error after printing the instructions but there's certainly not many of these amendment slips around. The newer Turtle Bridge manuals have two small black triangles printed on the cover which I assume is to make it easier to identify the corrected manual. QJ

Yes the instruction booklet did come with the box(thank god!). Don't you just love Torsten's website which is full of information! Anyway, I looked at the Instruction booklet and compared it to Torsten's picture. They do not match. The instruction booklet does not have triangles on the corner. My instruction booklet has spelling mistakes in paragraph number 6, and makes no sense. This game must be older than torsten's one. This explains why this extra paper slip was inserted in the box. They must of printed the extra paper to fix there mistake, and they did not want to create new production of manuels. I guess once they realized the mistake they fixed later models. Here is what it says in the instruction booklet: 6. When scote of 2 or 5 in units of 100 (200, 500, 1200, 1500......) are reached, game goes into CHANCE TIME for 20 to 40 seconds. Turtles do not move and fishes do not appear. __________________________________________ *Scote is spelled wrong, and For your reference QJ: Game serial number is 11286842 Box number is 80039791 -Matt

Matt, I think QJ said most there is to know about this. I admit that I've never seen an instruction booklet like that. All the booklets I've seen had the two black triangles on the corners.

Hmmm... I wonder how much this boxed game is worth. QJ, Do you remember how much that Mickey Mouse went for?

Hi Southbomb,
As far as I remember when L.I.D. and myself were talking about his additional instruction slip he did mention that he was unsure if it was meant to be in his Mickey Mouse box. He had the Japanesse version and it could of been originally from a Jap Turtle Bridge box that got mixed up somehow before he got it.
I think L.I.D. has now sold the boxed game and I assume he also sold the slip with it.
Even though the additional instruction slip is exteremly rare, I wouldn't expect it to be worth mega bucks. Maybe $20 USD but that's a complete guess.

Hey QJ- The slip of paper you refer to is this- I believe it came from my Popeye Widescreen. As for this Turtle Bridge package,I would sure like to see some good clear photos of the peices mentioned.I would find it quite interesting.I don't think personally it would affect the price a huge amount, but it does sound very interesting! Get us some pictures! Ross

As I've said in another thread, there's no way to directly upload images to this forum as there's no free space associated to it. You must upload it elsewhere and then link to it here using the img tag.
