Hi, I've been collecting - fairly intensely it's felt - for just under a year and a half, and have finally reached my target. It's not 60/60, because I've never liked the tabletops (they're a bit too large and clunky for my tastes) so its 56/56 for me. It's been quite a compelling, and draining, experience, as I'm sure know. Anyhow, here are some closer pics... The silvers: Golds: Widescreen: I always wanted boxed items, as close to mint as possible (who doesn't?) and I got a few sealed games that should be recognisable to a certain administrator around here...but my heart never really fell in love with these. It's a it frustrating not being able to see the contents! I may even sell these if anyone is interested. Here are the two colours, both sealed: Ok, Multiscreens: New Widescreens: Panos: Crystals: VS: And Mr you-know-who: The cost? Just under £7800 ($12,739). Maybe that's alot, but I had to do a bit of wheeling-and-dealing to achieve that, reselling games that I bought in improved condition. I hurried a bit at the end, my golds for example. But I feel price-wise I did pretty well. Now I've achieved my aim, I'm going to have to sell a few of them (just to pay my tax bill)...probably the non-mint and sealed ones. Meanwhile, maybe I'll slog on trying to achieve a totally mint collection?!! But whatever I do, each of these has some kind of story attached, and there's some I don't think I could ever part with! I'm sure many of you know the feeling... I'm sure Aris will ask me for serial numbers: Aris, just let me know exactly what you're looking for and I'll get it to you. Hope the rest of you enjoy the pics. It's been a, well maybe pleasant is not the right word, let's say all-consuming experience...my younger boy Alex certainly enjoyed it! Alberries

A very nice collection! Changing your targets is a very expensive business, because you invariably lose money when you sell a game that you bought and then decide to upgrade, because you're having to pay the postage twice - once for the old game and once for the new one. Lots of people will say that it's better to go slow, and in your case, deciding to go for mint games from the outset would have saved you that hassle, although you probably wouldn't have reached 56 already, and you would have spent even more! But then, once you've spend all that money, there's the problem of seeing it all tied up in that pile of cardboard and plastic! It's an emotional game!
About the sealed games, I totally agree with you. I've never been all that bothered about the condition of the boxes, or indeed having boxes at all. It's the games that I love, not even necessarily playing them, but just looking at them. The bright colours mixed with the shiny metal surfaces, just magic. I would never buy a sealed game.

Thanks Baluce! You've spotted three of my favorites.
Andy, you remind me that I never figured any of the postage costs into the expenses. And I have done a fair amount of posting back and forth!

Nice collection! Unbelievable that you reached this stage within a year and a half ... A good friend of mine once told me the ride was more enjoyable when you drove slowly though. Regards, Pieter Ps-Your arms are almost as hairy as mine!

Thanks Pieter
You are no doubt right about the speed. But I had to finish my target quickly as it was becoming too absorbing for me! Now I can take the rest of my life on getting my mint collection...
BTW those arms are my 12 year old son's.

Hi Alberries, Hehehe, I am sure you will try to get that mint collection in a speedy way aswell. Most collectors just can't help themselves. Regards, Pieter Ps- Is your son really just 12 years old? His arms are big! I was really big when I was 11 or 12 myself aswell. Didn't grow since then and I am 1.87 metres, so not extremely small. The other kids thought I was the teacher when we first met when the year started.

I've been to Holland a few times...you guys are all huge!
I'm not sure I'll ever get a mint collection totally...it's really hard to find mint gold or silvers at all anymore...maybe I started too late?
No, they are not Alex's arms...I was joking. Sorry, English sense of humour.
They are actually my wife's.
Best
Alan

Alberries Alan, Very nice collection indeed! I love the Vermin, and I'm not sure why, but I've always had a thing for 1st Edition Ball boxes. (I almost wrote: "1st Edition Balls" but that just doesn't sound right! LOL!) The CS trio is very impressive (much better than mine), Egg looks perfect, and other than MBA, all your Panos look amazing! Well done! That Helmet and Lion definitely have to go Though! You're right Pieter, those are some pretty hairy arms!!! I think they rival mine too! You're right Alan, I would like your serials, 56 might be too much to ask for, so, I'll just take the serials of your Supercolors and your NWS DKJR for now. ;D Yeah, okay, that wasn't so funny. If you don't mind, I'll take them all, but, really, if it's too many to ask for, I'll take serials from: The three Crystals Egg The six Panos The five Silvers The three Golds The seven NWS games The SMBS Please indicate if any of the serials are matching with the box, and if you have any Blue Mickey boxes, I'll take those too. Again, congrats on a very nice collection Alan! Aris
