If you own an iphone, then you'll be glad to know that there's now a proboards app that you can use to view this forum or any proboards forum easily. The lite version is free and you can use it to browse the forum or check your personal messages but if you want to create or reply to threads then you have to get the full version from the apple store for just $2.99. More information here: www.proboards.com/iphoneMichael

It seems that way but it isn't. Proboards is a free service but they have to make money from somewhere in order to pay the bills for the servers and all the costs. They have ads on the forum but they aren't enough. This app offers various interesting options for browsing through the forums fast and with ease, something that can't be done via an Internet browser.
I'm not saying you should buy it (or anyone else for that matter) but I have to say that it's not a way to scam people and make money as you implied.

I understand that, Michael. I admit that my comment was a bit abrupt, but I was mainly thinking of Apple. Their politic is to create needs, and then sell their apps. And I'm pretty sure that independant developers don't have the choice when they deal with Apple.

Yes, I totally agree. Apple's policy requires that every developer gets a license from them in order to sell their products and they can only do it via the apple store which is ridiculous!! Apple is even worse than Microsoft! I hope things will change soon with Android..

Talk about highway robbery....Ahh the beauty of having a monpoly of a system BTW thanks for the link for the proboards app Mike. Very much appreciated. I've installed it on my phone and now keeps me preoccupied on the train going to and from work. Thanks Again

Your %age makes me think of my kid's Ipod. More than 150€ for something "Designed in California" and "Made in China". But Ipod copies cost the same price to be made, and are sold 1/5 the price of an Apple product.
And chinese repros don't need Itunes to work !!!
