Hello, I'm new to G&W collecting. Got the virus 2 months ago at a car boot sale at the Belgian seaside. I bought 4 boxed games for 1€ each. 15 years ago I already wanted to start collecting, but sadely didn't go trough (could have saved me a lot of money...) I sold some less precious stuff from my other collection (50's & 60's Sapce toys & robots) for the cash and started Ebay-ing. After 2 months of hard work I'm at 54 of which 50 boxed. Hope to be at 56 in 2 weeks. I have a boxed YM-901 as the cherry on my collection cake, but maybe soon e MIB Egg could take his place... Oh no, I forgot my real N°1, my own Mickey & Donald bought in 1983 at the toy store in my street after crashing my saving-pig. My mother was so angry... Still looking for Pano Mickey & DK Circus, Cr Scr Balloon Fight, Flagman & Mario Juggler. Wait a moment, aren't this the most difficult ones So what, I still got a lifetime I also want 1 piece of all the side-stuff as this is fun to display next to the games in my show-case. I have the new french book, stickers, shipping box, russian Egg, Video-poche (I'm Belgian) & a mini-game. Still going for an eraser, carded game, pouch & OEM. I'll provide you with pictures from the moment I have them all displayed. PS: If you think this hobby is expensive, take a look at the old robot's & space toys on Ebay. For 300€ you hardly find a mediocre boxed 50's example. Greetings, Beni

Hi Beni and welcome! It's nice to hear of a collection starting so cheaply - 4 boxed games at a euro each - but then it went the predictable way - you're nearly there and are looking for the ultra-rare games I think the attach photo feature was disabled. You really have to upload your photos either to your own webspace or photo hosting sites like photobucket, flickr, maj, etc and then provide links to them here. Andy.

Thanks.
I have a good idea for a new discussion. How did you all got started ? Did you own your personal G&W in your younger days ? Maybe this was already covered elsewhere, if not it could be fun to hear everyones story...

Wow, 50 boxed in two months, that's true pownage I've got only 4 (lol) but am only going for perfectly mint and ultra complete copies. Last month, I wanted to play tropical fish badly (which I had as a kid) and wondered "hum, I could buy a new one, would fit perfectly in my collection !" (I collect brand new games and systems) So I bought a copy of game & watch gallery 3 for the GBA to play tropical fish and started to hunt an original new one. Didn't find one but saw new copies (well, of the most common games, but still) going for cheap (compared to gameandwatch.ch database) so thought "why not !"

Beni, congrats on your deal and your collection and I'm amazed that one can still find game&watch games in boot sales! They are becoming increasingly rare outside Ebay!
I always said that our hobby isn't so expensive compared to collecting other stuff. I mean look at other toys, for example lego, or playmobil or trains or whatever. There are countless stuff to purchase and incredible amounts of patience and money are required! At least with our hobby you can get most games cheaply!

Hello guys. Strange fact. I'm close to a blister pack of DKII, but a specific one without carton card in the back. The guy told me he got it from his parents in the eighties. They bought it at GB, a Belgian retailer, now Carrefour. Apparently they packed it without the box, folded open with stickers and instruction leaflets. Anyone aware of retailers doing this ? Normaly in Belgium they were all sold boxed in specialist toy shops. I'll keep you informed...

Hmm.. it seems like a regular blisterpack game to me. They were released in the late 80s all around the world...

Didn't work out that blister. Anyway after 6 months of collecting I'm on 57/60 now of which 54 boxed. Still missing CS BF, Pano DKC & Pano MM. In fact I have 64 games as I have the 2 Judges, 4 Videopoches, the YM-105 OEM, a nice boxed Russian Mickey & DKJr pocketsize. I'll make some pics when my plexi stands arrive so I can nicely place my games in my showcase. If anyone can help me with Videopoches, I'm very interested and willing to pay good money !!!!
