Hi Mike, I got to level three, but this is definitely not my cup of tea! DLL files, HTML pages, gif files, .bmp images etc..... no wonder why YOU like this sort of puzzle solving. Sorry, but IMHO, I don't find this interesting or fun at all. What about this? Try and escape from the CRIMSON ROOM! No specialized knowledge required.... www.fasco-csc.com/index_e.phpAC Well i like crypto riddles, for fun and learning... but of course that i do not post the link thinking that everydboy would like it if womeone have nothing to do with crypto then , of course, it's useless I tryed fasco, but it seems that sound is needed??? (have no sound on my work computer...) i find almost all items, but i seems to miss one (the one that should fit on the large space on the red box... i'll try at home...

Okay, here's an easy one:
You're driving along the street, and you realize you have a flat tire. You pull the vehicle over and proceed to remove the flat tire, and replace it with the spare tire. As you go to pick up the four nuts to fasten the spare tire, you accidently knock them into the sewer, and they are gone forever. How can you still get your spare tire on, and still get home?

Okay, the lugnut one was easy, you just take one lugnut from each of the other tires.
Here are a few more:
1. You and three friends are at an airport waiting for your plane to come in. You find an area at your departing gate where there are four empty seats. How many different possibilities are there for the four of you to arrange yourselves in these chairs? e.g. If I sit in the first chair, and Pieter sits in the second chair, and Mike sits in the third chair, and Paul sits in the fourth chair, that's one possible arrangement.
2. Jack recently purchased a farm and needs to put up 1668 feet of fence in a straight line. He has determined that he will need to put a fence post every 4 feet of fence. How many fence posts will be required?
3. You have eight coins. 7 of these coins weigh 2 ounces each, and 1 coin weighs 2.5 ounces. You are unable to determine which coin is the heavier one by looking at them or holding them. You have a scale with two pans but the scale can only be used twice. (you can perform two weighings) How can you determine which coin is the heaviest one using the scale, and using only two weighings?
Good luck!

1) effing loads and I can't be arsed to work out the permatations!
2) 418 at a quick rough guess, but it's propably some crap play on words.
3) Haven't read this one yet!

Okay, here are a few others: 1) What are the chances of flipping a penny four times and getting at least two tails? 2) If you wrote down all the numbers between 5 and 83, how many times would you write the number 4? 3) What is 10 percent of 90 percent of 80 percent? 4) Below are four sets of letters that are related in a way virtually known to everyone. Can you find the missing two letters? ON DJ FM AM Have fun! AC As these are old I will guess. Maybe we should have a time limited and then reveal the answers? My god rich one answer was... Nothing! 1) In what way, a good chance, no chance or like a % - I'd say you have a 1 in 2 chance? 2) None 3) Too tired to do this!! - 7.2%? 4) Too tired for this as well - Something to do with Radio? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A frog wants to cross a road which is 30 feet wide. He is sitting at the edge of the road on one side and makes his first hop towards the other side, the length of his hop is 15 feet. His subsequent hops are in the same direction (a straight line towards the other side) and are exactly half the distance of the previous hop. How many hops does it take him to reach the other side? Too effing many, probably infinity or in this case 1, because I'd mow the bastard frog down in my motor! I'll come back here again to check out the others! The white room and crimson room are good, but I think it's a bit silly when you have to start click things lots of time to make stuff happen! I mean that's not detective work is it!! P.s. Sorry about the double post!

1) effing loads and I can't be arsed to work out the permatations! 2) 418 at a quick rough guess, but it's propably some crap play on words. 3) Haven't read this one yet! Hey Paul, PM me (or whoever posted the question you're replying to) with your guesses. Don't post them here, otherwise you ruin it for the others. As for the solutions to the four questions I posted way back when, here they are: Two Tails:This is a little more complicated than it appears. What you need to do is figure out all the possible combinations that can occur when flipping a coin 4 times. So, for example, (with H representing Heads, and T representing Tails) here is what can happen: HHHH TTTT HHHT TTTH HHTH TTHT HTHH THTT HTHT THTH HTTH THHT HHTT TTHH HTTT THHH There are 16 possible combinations. Each combination has a 1 in 16 chance of occurring. 6 ways of getting exactly two tails, 4 ways of getting 3 tails, and 1 way of getting 4 tails. 6 + 4 + 1 = 11. Hence, your chances of getting two tails is 11 in 16. How many 4s?:Pretty straight-forward, the answer is 17. Some people forget to count both 4s in '44'. 10 of 90 of 80:Again, pretty straight forward, Ten percent (.1) of 90 percent (.9) of 80 percent (.8) = .1 x .9 x .8 = .072 or 7.2%. Random Letters?:ON DJ FM AM These letters represent the months of the year, only thing is, this grouping started with October November instead of the expected January February. The answer is JJ for June July. Hope you enjoyed them! Aris PS Mike P solved the coins using two weighings riddle.

How many 4s?:Pretty straight-forward, the answer is 17. Some people forget to count both 4s in '44' That was too obvious, I thought it might be a play on words, like 'how many fours are there, ie none. I must stop trying to be clever! I got the 7.2% then Random Letters?:ON DJ FM AM These letters represent the months of the year, only thing is, this grouping started with October November instead of the expected January February. The answer is JJ for June July. Errrr... Major floor there son, what about AS (August September?) That's why I was going down the radio route!! FM (Frequency) AM (Frequency) DJ (Disc Jockey) ON (ON) Sort it out!!

PD, I can see that your teachers must have loved you! ;D Okay, where do I start? 1) When it comes to brain stumpers, you don't give out every possibility except one, just enough to establish a recognizable pattern. 2) Not 'virtually everyone' is familiar with Amplitude Modulation, Frequency Modulation, Disc Jockey and ON, whereas, if you don't know your months of the year....... 3) Your solution is inconsistent since each letter of AM, FM & DJ represent a word, but for ON, you combined these two letters to make a word. Now piss off! And move on to the next ones. If they're too difficult, go find another thread to post in! ;D AC
