Hello
Bit of a strange request but here goes.
I need to find airlines from countries in EU that fly directly from Sharm-El-Sheikh (Egypt) and carry dogs.
Also the country needs to allow dogs in country without having to go in quarantine.
The dogs do have current EU Pet Passports.
Any help will be very much appreciated.
Regards James

thanks Mike
Had a quick look, but no flights seem to come directly from Sharm to Brussels.
Having searched the net the best bet seems to be Germany as Air Berlin and Condor both fly direct.
Anybody from Germany know the rules about pets coming from Egypt into the Country. It is hard for me to find out the information as I don't read/speak German.
Again any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

How soon do you need to know?

James, do you know for certain that inbound flights from Sharm don't allow pets ? I know for certain that pets are allowed in planes (separate from passengers of course) unless you mean something which is related to Egypt or something..

Right, I've found something: site about regulations concerning pets travelling to/from GermanyAre you taking the dogs from Egypt? If so, you'll need to have them tested for rabies by an approved lab. The bad news is, though, that you should preferably do that three months before you intend to travel, so that might not be possible for you. Quarantine for animals brought from Egypt can last up to 15 days.

Maybe my pet site helps a little bit here. But the information from the german custom website seems to be a lot better click here. A lot more information here and here (best link), but I didn't find the pages in english As far as I see the "best link" contains what you are looking for. - animal needs microchip - EU pet passport - Tollwutschutzimpfung (I don't know that in english, but Tollwut is an illness, mostly hits foxes and dogs. Animals with Tollwut get crazy and bite everything. After a while the animal dies.) I hope it helps! Patrick PS: Good hit, raffles!

Tollwut is just the German word for rabies, Patrick.

The dogs can't come back to England without going into quarantine for 6 months, as they have been in Egypt which is a known area for Rabies, and England has strict rules, even if they have rabies jabs/test etc. Other countries in the EU do allow them to live in the country without being in quarantine as long asthey have rabies vaccination and test.
The problem I had was getting a direct flight so they didn't have to endure 2 plane journeys, and Germany seems to have lots of direct flights and the rules that would allow them in as they have had rabies jabs etc.
I will look at the sites suggested now.
Thanks Raffles and Patrick, I will let you know if I have any questions.
James
EDIT: The dogs (which aren't mine, but I am trying to help a friend out) do have microchips and EU Pet Passports, and they also have up to date Rabies vaccinations. They are coming from Egypt. So they would also need a blood test as well as vaccination? I guess this could be done in Germany if not possible in Egypt? 15 days is better than 6 months quarantine anyway.

Hi, I'm not sure about the quarantine. Indeed, I moved to the UK recently and I'm in the process of bringing my cats over. There is no more quarantine, but they need to have a tatoo or otherwise a microchip. Moreover they need to have a passport and all vaccines up to date. In the end they also need a blood analysis. Finally they can then move to the country either by car or plane (animal can fly with passenger depending on weight), but not train (Eurostar). This is my knowledge for cats, guess it is the same for dogs. Cheers,

Egypt is apparently a country that has rabies, so the regulations may be a bit stricter in this case. I thought the British quarantine regulations had recently been changed, though. Or was that just within the EU?

They have changed in EU, but England has a couple of years before they have to change the regulations.
Thanks for all your help.
