Wow! If you guys think Ruud's goal was great (and it was indeed) then wat about Zlatan's goal in yesterdays match against Italy!? Wow! That was imho the best goal so far in the euro 2004. Let's keep our fingers crossed for todays matches! Latvia ole, ole, ole! & Hup Holland hup! Laat de leeuw niet in zijn hempie staan! Hup Holland hup, trek het beestje geen pantoffels aan! Hup Holland hup, laat hem in de kou niet staan! sAner

Hi Pieter, Hope you had a great break. Yes indeed the Swedish goal was top drawer. How did it get in between the crossbar and the Italians head!!? Good Luck to everyone who has a team still in it. Paul

Hi Paul! I had a great break indeed! Norway is tha bomb! Really! It's a GREAT country. Well, about soccer again: when the Danes and the Swedish are smart, Italy will have to go home no matter what. A 2-2 draw between Denmark and Sweden means goodbye for Italy. I think France will win the championship although I hope Holland will come far of course. But I seriously doubt that will happen ... I love English soccer and always support that team if they're not playing NL. And I am happily suprised by the way Hellas is playing! Congrats Mike! Regards, sAner

Thanks Pieter!
Unfortunately for the Italians, Vieri was the one who tried to save the goal but he's too heavy (gained a few pounds) and tired nowadays to manage that. Italy played well but their coach is stupid. Same mistakes in 2002, same mistakes now. Where is Inzaghi anyway ?
Ibrahimovic's goal was the best I've seen lately (let alone in the Euro04)! I think he's playing for Ajax now, eh, Pieter ?
The bad thing for Holland is that they will have to face us sooner or later so, they shouldn't have high hopes for this tournament.. ;D ;D

You're right Mike: Zlatan is playing for Ajax right now but I doubt he will still be playing for them in the next season. The way he is playing right now will certainly raise the attention of the bigger teams in Europe like Roma or Juventus. I am sure one of them will pay a huge amount to make him break his contract. Anyway; I am devestated right now. What was the best match of the euro 2004 so far turned out to be a disaster for the Dutch! a 3-2 loss against the Checzs. My God! Ruud should have deserved at least 1 penalty! The referee was a total disaster! And that second yellow card of Haitinga wasn't even a faul imho but certainly not a yellow card! And on top of it all Mr -I am a total f**k up!- Advocaat makes the worst change he could have done: he takes the BEST Dutch player off the field: Robben. d**n! I hate this so much ... Now the Chechzs will send their B-team to play the Germans and all the Germans have to do is win 1-0. Holland may win with a 100-0 from Latvia but that won't matter then. I seriously doubt whether the Checzs will try hard against the Germans as a lot of them play in the German competition and they are nr 1 in pool D anyhoy. F U C K!!! So much for my fury! sAner

Thanks again Pieter. This is the first time a Greek national football team goes to the next round! Amazing! Congratulations to Portugal too! I'm watching England's game now and they're already losing 1-0 to Croatia! Oh boy! Michael

Hi guys, (and girls?....hum, not sure ;D)
I didn't see the England/Croatia game but this guy "rooney" seems to be very effective (not like french players...).
Let's be realistic, France doesn't play well at all. We've been VERY lucky until now.
MIKE, what do you think about Greece/ France ? I would say 55% for France and 45% for Greece.
The outsider position is very confortable and I wouldn't be surprised if Greece win.
England/Portugal will be an interesting game too...
Thomas (from France ;D)

As I wrote earlier and as our three games showed, we're very unpredictable. If we play like we played versus portugal, I think we might have some luck but if we play like we did against Russia, we will lose easily. The consensus here is that we can do it but I'm not so optimistic. France didn't play well against Switzerland but they managed to score 3 goals! Zidane can easily turn a match upside down (France vs England) so I think we'll lose. Let's hope that we will play well and leave the tournament in pride! My prediction: France 70% - Greece 30% and bookmakers seem to agree too. Michael P.S. Great result for England but I'm still not convinced. They didn't play very well. They will have great problems against Portugal. P.S.2 What do you think about the Denmark vs Sweden game today ? Do you think they will fix it so that they both advance to the second round ?

I don't think so ... as a 2-2 fix is too difficult.

I think so too, after all Sweden goes to the next round with any result but defeat.. why risk it ?
