I like the idea of the news fader on the main page of the forums, Mike! It looks great and helps to show off links to features such as the Board's rules and so forth. It's only on trial at the moment; do you think it will become a permanent addition? I hope so - I like it! pulse8

I hope that by testing you are after feedback The fade is too slow.....it took what seemed like an excessive amount of time to read the message about Karma. Andy.

Andy, for some strange reason, on my browser there's no fade unless you mean the transition from one message to another. And that transition is quite fast even at the lowest setting. What browser do you use ? Innis ? What about you ?

I'm with you, Mike. The transition from one message to another is fairly fast, just enough time to read the message. I use Firefox 1.0.7. pulse8

Yes, I'm using I.E. I think the amount of time each message is fully visible for is about 6-7 seconds. On the longer messages it's just about right, but the short ones, it takes you about a second to read it and then you're waiting for 5 seconds for the next message. So perhaps, I should just read slower Andy

Yeah, I know IE is crud but each time I've tried firefox I give up because it just refuses to work some of the time. I click on a link or go to an address and it just sits there waiting...... Any ideas? I'd love to switch if I could rely on it. Andy

Andy, I've never used Firefox (although I've heard good things about it) but why don't you give Opera a try ? The latest version 8.50 is free and I have had no problems with it since version 7.. You'll also discover some very nice features that IE lacks at this point..
Now, back to the fader.. I think I prefer it slow-and-annoying rather than fast-and-what-the..-was-that-about!

Hey Andy,
I am using firefox for over a year now and I never experienced any problems ... In fact; I think it's way more reliable, faster, etc. than f.e. IE. Strange that you're having problems. Maybe you should try and download the most recent version?
Later!

Andy, Firefox 1.5 beta is available now, but the full version is due to be released in Nov/Dec with some great updates on the current v1.0.7. Whichever way you go, just make sure you leave that IE behind!! pulse8
