Yeah, wonder why not many people placed a bid in it.. I know it hasn't got a b/c but the box is very rare and you can probably get another game for $150 - maybe less.

The rarest item should be the DKC manual. Note that most DKC English manuals are "purple-colored" whereas this is "pink-colored".

Michael That would probably be because the market is f$%#$d at the moment. I'm not selling anything atm, I lost a few items last week 2 low. I think theres 2 many people ditching there collections at once, causing a flood.... Good time to buy but. -B

I was planning on bidding on the DK Circus - But decided I would be happier with $400AU (Which it sold for) instead . Congratulations on the win, Kevin! (At least I'm fairly sure that's your new buying ID anyhow).

I agree with Brendan. It's an extremely good time to buy! Not only because greater offer makes prices go down but also because you can find some excellent near mint-mint items now. Moreover, buying from other collectors ensures that you're getting exactly what you're seeing or reading in an auction..

I thought it was a little low at first - but when you think about it its not low at all. Michael got his c9 one last year for only $500US, whilst this one is a c7 at best...
BTW: To be honest, I dont believe that there is as much intrest in PS games as there was a year or so ago. More and more games are appearing out of the woodwork, and combined with a falling demand and drop in collectors, It is causing the prices to drop from what they once were.

I think that price, even considering the condition of the box, is quite low. If Mike got a better one for only $500, then that was a superb bargain, he was very lucky.
I have a theory, it's a bit way out, but anyway, that the price of the PS is partially related to the quality of the artwork. The Greenhouse box has one of the weaker pictures, and DK2 is by far the worst. Obviously there are other factors, but the greenhouse is just as rare as, say, lifeboat, but I bet a lifeboat PS would go way higher because it looks better.

Andy, Last year all pocketsize games were going for $500US or lower, and even then most of us thought that amount was way too much. It is just due to demand that the price went out of control early this year, but with a lot of that demand dieing (and the PS supply growing), Prices can only go down. You are paying hundreds of dollars JUST for a colourful box after all! Just my 2 cents of course

I agree with Fox.
Let's analyze the bid history:
There are only 7 bidders who showed interest in the Greenhouse PS.
As most of them are still actively collecting so the price is still substainable at around US$500.
However we cant be sure how many of these 7 collectors will decide to call it a day.
Hence there is higher probability that PS G&Ws will decline in value.
Just my 0.02 cents ;D

Your logic is flawd Alvin. It all comes down to priorities, determination, available cash (or lack of) etc. Prices of rare items are more or less unpredictable. You never know when a couple of very determined collectors will surface and start bidding ridiculous amounts of money and you surely can never know which and how many collectors are interested in an item at any given point in time.
I think the low ending price of the greenhouse auction can be easily attributed to the condition of the box but the low ending price of the ps snoopy tennis might be more difficult to explain. But, don't forget there's another similar item available right now.

Supply and demand fellas, supply and demand. I think you will find the lack of interest is not only in PS, but the whole market. But things will return to normal in a few months hopfully. Just take advantage now. -B P.S Pocketsized prices for 2005: www.nintendothumbs.com/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=9Someone really has to show me how to do the "link here" thing in BB code.

I'm sure I've seen PS games go for over $500 a couple of years back, but I could be mistaken. $400-500 for anything other than any donkey kong title is pretty cheap I reckon. I'd love one and I'd be prepared to bid that sort of price but my money is diverted elsewere at the moment, so I'd tend to agree with Mike about unpredictability.
