Just a thought hobby, but why don''t you make the boxes just big enough to fit the game only with no packing foam. like they do with the russian clones? it would be still "cute" and appealing, and useful for protetion for the game, but more obvious to collectors?
I personally recon miniature boxes that fit games only would be cool to have in your collection, plus it would take up way less space.

I have recently bought from this seller (spanish seller) a NIB Balloon Fight widescreen. When i saw all of his new recent "fake" auctions i checked again to be sure... I confirm it's a 100% original game-box-batteries and instructions. So please don't put me in your "be careful" list!!! Can you give me the auction number of the Balloon Fight, please? Thanks! - Patrick

Did you know that Hobbymodel is selling reproduced battery covers? I just looked back over this thread and he didn't say that the egg B/C was original, so I think it's safe to assume that it's a fake, as it didn't look right.

Let's hear from him about that. The reproduced b/c problem is not a new one though. Lots of people have been creating reproduced covers for some time now.. Michael

Andy. hi andy, my egg game comes with an original batteries cover 1000% (i don't need to lie if it is the fake) i think you should check with your games and compare each cover of each game , it will have slightly different for the color , such as octopus , (1st with 2nd or jp with english series) and included the time effect , placing (hot ,warm ,cool) (these games are 20+ year old from the factory ) and maybe effect from the flash when i took the photo wichet

Wichet is right. I bought a NIB Octopus japanese version and the battery cover looks like different colour. At first i thought it was from Mario's Cement wide, but seller told me the game was never used. I have also seen that in some Popeye widescreens. Maybe Nintendo used batterie covers from other similar colour games.

Some battery covers do have a slightly different colour than the rest of the game. My guess is that Nintendo didn't create them with the game but in a separate process.

I concur with Pablo, Wichet and Mike! I've noticed this as well, especially with the Egg games I have.
