While posting in the 'insurance' thread I said that no game is worth over 5000 pounds. It got me thinking about what IS the most valuable G&W in existance and what one that we don't know to exist is the most valuable. We know the amounts paid for some top games like $2500'ish for a PS rainshower or a NIB flagman but what about other games that haven't been seen on ebay, the 20,000,000 greenhouse, or the NOA DK hockey, for example. Then there are the games that we don't know to exist like NOA DK3 or the missing Pocketsizes.
It's just a bit of fun, what are your suggestions?
My ideas: Existing games: A New in new box PS rainshower:$3-4000 20,000,000 greenhouse (loose): $1500 Another NOA DKH : $3000
Unknown games: NOA DK3: US$3000 20,000,000 greenhouse boxed (if box is commemorative): $5000 PS turtle bridge/chef:$4000 White Spitball Sparky (with white on box):$1500 Tetris multi-screen (loose): ?? $5000?
Once you get past the current high price record, it's difficult to imagine how high they will go, because we don't know howm many collectors there are with the balls or the money, which is why I've tended to stop at $5000
Andy.

I reckon a NIB Octopus PS would go for more! (than a rainshower).
That was my immediate reaction - I'll post more suggestions if I can think of them!

I agree with jon. It seems that taki doesn't have a ps octopus!

Well, it's difficult to make an estimation for items which are possibly worth over $2500 because from what I've seen there are only a few people that would spend that kind of money for a rare game&watch item. Defining amounts is so hard I wouldn't even try to do it.
I also think that there are a few items in your list that would attract high bids from outside the community so it's easy to guess that they would fetch a lot. These are the special greenhouse and the tetris prototype. I estimate that these two items (even loose) would go for more than $3000 easily.
Btw, Ramrodius once told me that his white spitball came inside a common spitball box so in most probability the box of a white spitball sparky is like any other out there.

"Another NOA DKH : $3000"
I happen to know for a fact that the person who sold it to Paul originally bought it with BIN for $340. I don't know how much Paul paid though.

Yeah I think closer to $1,500 - $2,000 for another NOA Hockey. Pocketsize Egg? (Haha! ) - $3,500 Like Mike said, there's less than a handful of people who would pay such amounts. These items would certainly go high, but I think they would only equal records we have seen in the past. Good fun to think about, though... pulse8

Here's one you haven't thought about... A PS Blackjack!!!! I have seen just about every PS somewhere (on ebay) but I have never seen a Blackjack for sale along with a Crab Grab. Funny, the most common game turns out to be one of the rarest in PS!! "Another NOA DKH : $3000" I happen to know for a fact that the person who sold it to Paul originally bought it with BIN for $340. I don't know how much Paul paid though. No more than £1000, that's all I'm going to say! But what has the price I paid for it, or what the person I bought it off got to do with the price of fish? We are talking about rare games and how much they would sell for, not how much we paid for them. Only 2 or 3 people even knew about the NOA auction and it got taken off ebay before it reached everyone, so it didn't even run its course? I'd stick it in the cheap thread if we were talking about cheap games! And I'd bet if it went on ebay it would go for more than I paid for it.

Yes, ps Blackjack is quite rare. I can't remember the last time I saw one.
As for Crab Grab, there's not too many of those out there either. The only one I've ever seen on ebay was won by myself.

Wouldn't be "the most valuable", but I'm sure the elusive BJ-60 and JR-55 OEMs would fetch a good amount (for OEM boxes). I don't recall seeing either of these ever listed in my experience on eBay. Where did you get yours from, Mike? Side deal? pulse8

Hi All, I remember Torsten won a PS Blackjack for around $160 USD as I was one of the bidder. It's been maybe 2 yrs now? I have ALL 3 of the OEM and sold an extra JR-55 to Michael quite a while back for quite cheap! I see one on EBAY at around 200 GBP now! Kevin

I don't think a ps blackjack would fetch that much because it's almost identical to the normal box. Like I said before, the desirability of the artwork seems to affect the price. I remember, at least 5 or 6 years ago, OEM games listed very regularly and being unsold at $20. PS octopus? yes, I suppose so, has there ever been one on ebay? I still don't see it going way past the current record, though. I just realised while looking back at the title of this post, how many people entered it thinking I'd found a photo of some new and wondrous game? Andy. p.s. what was the story with the DKH, Paul? Did the auction get pulled with a private offer?

Innis, I won all of them in Ebay auctions for pretty cheap I might add. The one Kevin sold me was to replace the other one I used to own which wasn't in very good condition.
I remember the ps blackjack auction well because I was the second best bidder.. argh! (the story of my life in pocketsize auctions) At the time I wasn't prepared to bid too much for it. It's very rare but I'm not sure it would fetch too much in an auction now. I'd say around $400-500 tops.

Andy,
Without going into too much detail, the dkh was a normal auction on ebay (can't remember if it was hidden) about 2 or 3 people saw it.
A side deal was struck by one of them and a bin was placed on the item. Winner of auction contacts me and we do the deal.
Everyone's happy. Well maybe not everyone!! Paul

If you were one of the people that noticed the auction, then there's at least one bidder who's not happy!
