Question of MY day! Unfortunately I have not been around during the SPINAL era, but it seems he is like a legend to you guys. My question is what happen to his collection? Where does he live? Is his website still viewable? How long ago did he disappear? As there is a NEW generation of collectors, maybe you guys should start saying Southbomb Southbomb Southbomb! Well, Maybe not yet, as my collection is rather small! If I can only read and write Japanese! -Matt

Spinal collects g&w's which are cheap!! ;D He once said he didn't want to spend more than 10 usd on 1 g&w. This means his collection exists out of g&w's which miss metal plates, serials, b/c's, etc. His collection isn't that big nor fantastic. He's just a great friend of ours and his site and forum were legendary. In the topdays of his forum ALL known collectors were present (even Torsten and Taki with an occasional post). Besides maintaining the best g&w forum, his site featured loads of interesting stuff and links and on top of that Spinal just is a swell guy. That's why we keep on chitchatting about him. We just miss him and we hope nothing serious is wrong. Last time we spoke Spinal, he had serious moneyproblems and he couldn't pay his i-net bills. Then he had some virusproblems and suddenly (in september 2003) he vanished into nothing. sAner

Spinal (real name Peter) is a collector from Sweden who ran an excellent G&W forum message board up until a few months ago. Unfortunately his message board kept going down regularly and I think this was mainly due to him occasionally/regularly not paying his internet bill!!! ...Michael (our hero from Greece ;D) decided to set up a new forum and almost all the old regulars from Spinal's old Forum have now registered here to continue the Game & Watch banter....
Sadly Spinal's forum is still off-line and so is his Game & Watch site. I traded with him a few times in the past and he seems a really genuine guy. Nobody really knows exactly what's happened to him or if he's given up collecting. I'm sure he'll return sometime, I guess he's taken a break for a while.

Hey sAner, I didn't notice your post and was writing mine at the same time ...Spinal also holds some of the highest G&W scores around. He's got an amazing 9999 on Snoopy Tennis, he could of kept playing but quit the game since he was getting desperate to have a smoke! QJ

Spinal sounds like a nice guy! Too bad about his money problems. Did he ever sell off his collection? Did he ever get anything rare for under $10.00? It's hard just to get a loose anything for $25 and less! None of you guys know his E-mail address or something? -Matt

Hi! I remember Spinal's forum, although i wasn't a member there, i regularly looked around at everyones posts. Considering Spinals BIGGEST purchase was $20USD on a loose Snoopy Panorama, he had a massive 33/60 games, all of which he got under $20US. His forum was down for months, then suddenly reappeared again. A week later it went back into dissappearance with no warning and to this day, It hasn't been back. I dont think Spinal would have sold off his collection, as they meant a lot to him. Personally, I don't know his email, but I don't think it matters as at the moment, as he is apparently uncontactable. (Judging from posts by other collectors)
I hope he is OK though..

Hey QJ, heh! Yeah, we typed our reactions almost on the same time (I was few mins earlier!). You're right about Spinal's highscores. Torsten's list of highscores features Spinal on spot 1 very, very often ... almost in every category. sAner

I don't know about you guys, but I don't have the patience to play out a game. It really does take you a long time to build up a score! Then what happens when you get to 999, your score goes back to 1! The only game which I have tried and gotten 999 was Lifeboat! My favorite game! -Matt

I was just browsing through old threads and found this one ... therefore this rather late reply. I really hate some of the games and I never play them. Take f.e. the micro system vs. games .... Yuk! The games I do like (Donkey Kong 1, 2, jr., Fire, Mario Bros, Snoopy pano, etc.) never tire me and I could play them for hours and hours. A game like DK-52 is actually quite addictive for me and thinks that's superb ... a 20 year old game which still grasps me for the full 100% ... magnificent. sAner

Yes, I already heard Spinal was going to be back and that he experienced CPU problems somewhere last week. QJ had received an e-mail from Peter. I am really glad he's okay. Does this mean we have to fill two forums in the near future?? sAner
