After a long think for a few months now I've decided to sell some of my boxed games. I've not given up collecting it's just that I'm now going to focus on some of the loose games. I've listed some of my boxed games on eBay (if you haven't noticed already), I've got loads more in my collection - some of them are NIB which may interest some of you. Anycase, if anyone is interested take a browse through my collection here uk.geocities.com/qj_gw/. Any serious offers welcomed. Cheers QJ

wow, your collection is immense!
however i'm presuming that these items are generally all out of my price range, good luck to whoever gets their hands on 'em!
what do you mean by 'going to focus on some of the loose games' by the way? i find it confusing that you own pretty much every game boxed and you want them without boxes!
good luck with your auctions (what's your ebay username?)
cheers, Mike.

Hey, If you want all the games unboxed, then why don't you keep every game and just sell the box and instructions. You will still get some good money for the boxes i'm sure! -Matt

Recently I purchased a brand new in mint box Donkey Kong 2. When it arrived the box got damaged in the post - the seller only sent it in a bubble bag despite me making a clear point that I wanted it well packaged. This item cost me a lot of money and now with the box damaged it's value has dropped considerably. This has made me think, what's the point spending all this cash on nice boxes??? Yes, I could split the games from the boxes but it's unlikely that I'll do it. Firstly, spliting the games means I'll be basically left with mint loose games. In all honestly I'm happy with just good condition loose games so I'd rather sell the mint games in their new/mint/near mint etc., boxes. Secondly, I've got a load of loose games already which aren't listed on my website so I've got doubles of some of the games and I'm happy to let the better condition boxed ones go. In all honestly it wouldn't worry me if I didn't manage to sell any of my boxed games - it's not that I'm desperate to get rid of them, like most collectors I paid quite a bit for my collection and would rather keep it than sell for a loss. QJ has a very nice collection. I'll consider buying some of his items. I'll take a look and let you know, QJ.
When I first created this forum I thought of creating a buy&sell forum just like Spinal had done in his. After some thought I decided not to because all users that might be interested in buying or selling stuff read this forum anyway. In case you think that I should create a separate forum for buy&sell posts, let me know.

I understand you want to start collecting just the games, but think of the reason why you started collecting in the first place. You started to buy the boxes becuase it made your collection more complete and much nicer. How long has it taken you to get all 60 games? I wish I have all the games, but it's too expensive for me to buy. I am trying to save up! Anyway, I wish you luck selling your collection! P.S. Do you collect the blisterpacks? -Matt

I've only got one blister pack game (not including the mini classics), that Mario's Cement Factory.
The reason why I started collecting the G&W games was simply because I loved the games when I was a kid. My very first game was Oil Panic which I've still got in it's original Futuretronics box which was a Christmas present and I've always said this is one item I will never sell. I wanted to collect the games because it gives me the opportunity to play the games once again and also play those games I never played when I was younger (Mickey & Donald was a game I never played until about 18 months ago!).
My original collection goal was to get every game boxed in as nice condition as possible, and then also get all the games loose which would be my demo/play games, (and if possible the loose games would be the Futuretronics versions).
The bulk of my collection has taken me around 2-3 years to build up and has for most of the time been really enjoyable. Since I've got a near complete collection it usually means I'm nowdays looking only at the boxes rather than the games themselves.
I guess that's why I feel I want to get back to the basics of collecting. I'm just happy to stick to playing my loose Donkey Kong rather than think about why I can't take my other new one out from it's mint box incase I ruin it. I'd rather pass on the boxed games to other people/collectors who will find good homes for them.

I understand where you're coming from Matt (QJ)! It seems rather ridiculous to spend so much on cardboard boxes, because the games themselves are what's really important. That's why I chose to collect only the boxes of the not so rare games in a state which makes them rather 'cheap' (although cheap is a rather strange word combined with the word game&watch:)). I do agree with the other Matt (Southbomb) though; you're collection is great. It's amongst the best I've ever seen (next to Michael's, Taki's and Torsten's collection). It seems a waste of time and energy to sell it now ... I must say you kinda broke my heart when you announced to sell your boxed collection ... I do understand it somehow though ... with a kid on the way and all it seems silly to "sit" on 7000 ++ euros costing g&w's ... I wish you all the best in selling your beautiful collection. I really, really hope you will stick to the community though (by collecting loose games) but you promised us you will! sAner
