Hi Pieter, Thanks a lot for asking my whereabouts! Other than my full time job and family commitments, I have been busy with other hobbies lately. On family matters, my son is starting school this autumn and there's some preparatory work to do (e.g. finding school, teaching him skills like changing clothes and using the washroom etc.). I also have to start saving money for a bigger flat, and possibly for another baby which my wife grumbled about for a long time Personally, I was diagnosed earlier to have hypertension (a family trait). This is not a major problem as long as I start the lifelong medication. What is also important is to change the lifestyle (more exercise, less food etc.) and there are hard habits to change. You can imaginne much time and efforts are required to succeed. As for hobbies, I am converting a reasonably large CD collection (800+ mostly from the 80's) into mp3 so I can listen to them with a portable player. The time consuming part is selecting what to convert, othewise even the 60 GB ipod won't fit all songs. I have been through with some 100 CDs only, and it will probably take another full year to finish the project at my current pace. I am also taking the opportunity to refine my CD collection. You may not know, but I collect Depeche Mode records (including vinyls) as well, and they have just released their remixes compilation recently! I have also been spending considerable time with micro radio controlled cars in the past half year or so. I have bought myself some 100 cars at various scales (e.g. Mini Z as some of you may know) and I have just finished buidling this: www.crt-remote.com/en/frames.htm. Micro RC has always been my like since childhood, but it was not until now that I have the money and time to pursue more fully this hobby. There are many other things which I enjoy also but could not spare the time at the moment: movies (I could watch 3 movies a day if time allows), reading (it was 4 years ago that I have the time to complete a book in one go). When my baby grows older, I also hope to be able to travel more like you did. Well well well, I am sorry to bore members with this long and non-GW related message. I hope this explains a little why I was not in the scene for a while. There are so many issues in life but so little time. I recall someone said that it was both due to poor time management whether one can find nothing to do to kill time, or one finds too little time to do all the things he/she wants. I no doubt belong to the second category. In any case, as far as GW is concerned, I still feel strongly attached to this GW community, and I will keep browsing this forum from time to time, and respond as far as I can. lio

All of these comments (especially the one's from Lio and Mike P) really sum up the answer to your question, Pieter. I think the newer collectors who still have some games to go are the most active because they have to be, they are still trying to get more games and they are eager to keep going. Those of us who have 'finished' (if there is such a stage) are far less interested because we are less bothered about finding new games. I've stopped looking on ebay and all the other places I used to look for games. I only come here for a chat. I wouldn't say the forum is the most important thing for me, but it serves the purpose of prolonging my interest in the hobby, which really diminished once I got to 59. If I hadn't come here, I would have not bought a YM-901S and I wouldn't be determined to buy a pocketsize game, which I am now!
My excuse for being away is that I usually post during work days when I get a few minutes in the office. I'm far too busy with the baby when I'm at home! That's why there was a gap of nearly 2 weeks without me posting.
Andy.

@cedric: Nice one! ;D (did you receive my pm about Canada?) lio & Andy: Thanks for your very detailed reaction. I appreciate it a lot. Of course I understand there's more in life than g&w and after all this is just a hobby. Me, myself and I have less and less time for g&w aswell. I just missed you! Regards, sAner

I agree, when you have completed something that you set out to do, what do you do next?
I think its worth mentioning that even though a lot of people have reached their goals or completed their collections, it still says a lot about the forum and the people that visit it, that not everyone has gone. Wether it's being here everyday or poping in once in a while, people still come and visit, so thats cool.

On the topic of oldskoolers and regular visitors, Wizbug seems to have disappeared into thin air!
