Hey guys and girls!
The forum is getting disturbingly quiet lately. What's happening? Is it just x-mas, new year and holidays or what?
Where are QJ, Fuzgi and Lio? Where are gameandwatchcollector, Ramrodius, Bubbabomb and Monkeygreen? Where are Devster, Slash, Bodderick, Wilson and wwfcgoober? Where are Roz, Emmo and Andreas?
The list seems endless .... Or is it just me?

Where are QJ, Fuzgi and Lio? Where are gameandwatchcollector, Ramrodius, Bubbabomb and Monkeygreen? Where are Devster, Slash, Bodderick, Wilson and wwfcgoober? Where are Roz, Emmo and Andreas? I think I can answer all your questions Pieter. QJ decided to sell his boxed collection not so long ago so he has probably lost interest in all this. Ramrodius is trying to sell his too so he's probably no longer interested in game&watch discussions either. Lio, Kevin and Andreas were never frequent posters so that's no wonder. Paul has to sell a house from time to time in order to be able to bid thousands of pounds for rare items. Wilson has left a few messages the last days. Emmo wasn't really interested in the items. He was just interested to find a few buyers. Fuzgi logs in from time to time but as you've noticed he has posted only a few times in this board. Roz was remotely interested in the games and she isn't really collecting them. Alan must be on holidays or something. I have to say that I understand why old collectors don't feel the need to participate in here. That's probably because they think they know most there's to know about the games. If I wasn't the admin of this board, I would probably participate a lot less myself.. Michael

I have to say that I understand why old collectors don't feel the need to participate in here. That's probably because they think they know most there's to know about the games. Thanks for the explanation, Mike! For me it is totally different. A forum (in the early days Spinal's forum and now yours) is the only reason why I keep collecting. If I didn't maintain my own website and there was no good forum to exchange ideas/moods/visions/feelings with other collectors, I would have given up on collecting a long time ago. I am not alone in this. Just read the interviews on my website (http://www.xs4all.nl/~sane). I asked the wellknown collectors if they think a good forum is the basis of a healthy g&w community. Most agreed and some even said it was one of the conditions to go on with collecting. I agree. In fact, at times when the forum is booming and filled with new messages I feel the urge to buy more and better games. At times when it is quiet and empty, I want to spend my money on other things. At some points, when the forum is really quiet, I sometimes even think of selling ... That's how important a good and active forum is for me. That's why I wondered ... Does anyone feel the same like me? Maybe I should start a poll? sAner

Nope, I'm not on holiday. I'm just extremely busy with work and barely have any free time at the moment.

I agree Pieter, it's been pretty quiet out here... What can we do about this? I see this on e-bay as well...nothing spectacular happening lately, allthough I saw Devster yesterday winning a NIB tropical fish for 338$. Mattijs edit: sAner, why do you quote yourself without adding any comment? Is this legal Michael? I think we have a new rule here...

Well, During holidays my daily rythm changes... I get up a lot later, spend more time out of the house and so on... There's X-Mas, newyear's eve and day, I went to Paris for four days... I dropped by to do some quick reading every now and then but didn't find the time for more than that... I didn't follow eBay too... But that's all about to change again... Only two more days and regular life will start again... Well, at least for another month or so... By then my first child will be born and my whole liferythm'll change drasticly... B.t.w., Thanks for including me in your list Pieter !! Talk to you all soon... Kevin.

Congrats for your child ! Boy or girl ? I wish you to have some good nights ;D I have 2 boys, a 3 years old and 7 weeks old. When one stops to cry, the other one starts for some crazy reasons (a monster in the closet, this kind of thing...) ...

Hello I am here, alive and well, posted a few times tonight. I wouldn't worry too much, this happens from time to time. Remember sometime early last year, everyone was saying how quiet it was, well it soon picked up. The holiday's don't help as it is a distraction and there are other things to do, then some people are getting back to work and it's busy in the first few weeks of Jan. Some are taking extended holidays and some people can't be arsed! I've been busy and just dipping in and out, checking mail etc, ask Ulf, we talk a lot on MSN, but I'm never around long enough! Chill Paul

Well, I agree with you Pieter and that's why I created this board in the first place! But interest tends to diminish with time when you have collected all there is to collect (thanks to Paul we have some new interesting items to look out for now though!). Take me for exampe, I don't browse Ebay so often as I used to do and I'm not keen on bidding since I'm only interested in a couple of items lately. I've discussed most there's to discuss about the games the last three years so I find similar discussions a bit boring although new collectors find them intriguing. I guess you understand what I'm trying to say..
Despite all this, I try to help new collectors and support my board to the best of my ability. Other old collectors have no similar motives though..

Mike, your only way, collecting other brands ! ;D Many many great items, and a lot of discoveries to come ! You all are (and I am) very happy when someone find an unknow G&W item. With Bandai, Tomy, Epoch, etc... that happens several times per year !

Cedric, other brand collecting doesn't work for me because the reason I started collecting g&w was my childhood memories. I don't recogrize any other lcd games so I don't feel the urge to get them. Moreover I don't have the space to store them and we're talking hundreds of games here!
I may as well start collecting something else and this is probably going to be miniature airplanes cause they're related to my work..
