As per Mike's suggestion, I've started a new thread out here Does anyone remember the bubblebath called 'Matey'? I wouldn't be surprised if this box orignally contained a 'matey' bar of soap shaped like a boat or something. That would be the sort of present your auntie would buy you at christmas! Andy. edit: a little googling found these images, check out the boats on the first one.... theimaginaryworld.com/disp90.jpgtheimaginaryworld.com/box410.jpgwhat do you reckon?

I think Mike means put it in the private section Andy! Anyway, I remember Matey bubblebath, it was all the rage back then. They did have a marketing ploy of giving away various games and toys with their products, so maybe this was a special xmas edition box that came out with the soap/bubble bath? I don't think the box would have had the soap in it? More research required - I've already emailed Matey direct. Paul p.s. Matey - all about ships, being at sea - Lifeboat, about being at sea on a boat? p.p.s some more photo's theimaginaryworld.com/box1373.jpgtheimaginaryworld.com/box411.jpg

Guys, I like your way of thinking there, but do you think that they would release an electronic game so people can play it whilst in the bath?! I beg to differ, but stranger things have happened! pulse8

Pulse8, you've missed the point entirely
My theory is that the box originally contained something related to the matey bubble bath, like a bar of soap or maybe a free lifeboat floating toy. Then the game was put in it later, maybe by some clever mum or auntie who wanted to disguise a kids christmas present?
Andy.
