Many web pages list the different production figures for the games, for example, less than 250,000 each for ball and flagman, but there are a few questions I have about these figures, like:
Where did these figures come from? Can they be considered accurate and official? Can we get more accurate figures? At the moment, Flagman is in the same 'rarity' band as Blackjack
Just thinking out loud really, but it is quiet in here compared to last week!

hi andy just curious, which website are you referring to? can you list them so we could have a look? yes, i have to say having a production figure would solve a lot of mysteries, but i just wonder if even nintendo US or japan have records of these figures....

Such figures are useless. We usually judge rarity of an item by the frequency it appears for sale. What if flagman was made in millions ? It's still rare..
One reason I decided we should try to create a game database is this: we really don't know how many games are still available thus the way we perceive "rarity" is totally subjective.

One example of a website that contains production figures is Mike's FAQ. It's not the only one, though, I know I've seen them elsewhere, and I'm sure Mike got them from somewhere, he wouldn't have made them up. Like Mike said, they're pretty useless as they only show different 'bands' of production figures, for example, less than 250,000. Flagman falls into that category, but I doubt very much if they sold any more than 50,000.

Torstens website www.intheattic.co.uk/reviews.htmalso gives units 'sold' figures under the Reviews section for each individual game. Not sure where he got these figures from or how accurate they are  Iain

AHA! Nini's list says the figures are from the retrogames magazine, and I'm pretty sure I know the guy who wrote the article quoting them. I'll contact him to confirm. I don't see the figures on the retrogames site, by the way.
Andy.
Edit: I was mistaken, so I can't confirm where the figures originally came from.
