I have to say a few things about Ebay and sellers..
You all had various experiences but I have to focus on the experiences I had in relation to the sellers' nationality and say a few things:
- US and Canada sellers are very helpful and respond to emails promptly.
- English sellers are slow on shipping but they generally cause no problems and respond to emails promptly.
- French sellers won't speak English most of the time and it's difficuly to make payment arrangements. Even if you write in English they usually respond in French which is very irritating so beware.. if you see an auction with a french description, there's a great chance that the seller doesn't speak english. French sellers with a great feedback (large numbers) are recommended though because they usually don't cause any problems.
- German sellers are like french ones. Although most of them know english they will write in German regardless of the language you use. Very difficult to understand them even if you use online translators. Most of my experiences were bad, 90% of cases I paid more for shipping than the real cost and in case you have any complaints they usually discard your message and never reply back.
- Asian sellers are very friendly, prompt replies and very fast.
- Australian sellers are friendly, rather slow on shipping but they deliver and they won't give you any trouble.
These are generally my experiences. Of course this doesn't include fake sellers and it's not meant to be a guide for Ebay buyers by any means! I just wanted to share my experiences.
And in case you're wondering, I have 13 months of experience in Ebay, I've bought about 300 items from all over the world and I can back all the above up with names, auction numbers and emails..

Hi Marcus, thank you for visiting my forum!
My experience with scandinavian sellers is very good. They're very helpful and friendly. Never had a single problem! Some sellers even agreed to sent the items even though they received less money than they anticipated (due to different exchange conversion rates)!!
As in any case though, you might face a problem with any seller regardless of his nationality. Sometimes it's just a matter of luck
