Hello,
Maybe it's just me and maybe it has been discussed a thousand times before, but I don't get why the modelno's jump from LN-08 to PR-21 and from SP-30 to OP-51. Why is that? Why didn't Nintendo continue in a logical order?

Pieter, I've thought about this too, and really could only come up with the conclusion that Nintendo weren't sure of how many games in each series they might end up producing. As you can see, most series start with a new leading number, followed by a 1. For example... Silver - 01 WS - 21 MS - 51 TT - 71 etc... I guess they knew that they were only going to produce a total of 5 silver series games, as the gold series starts directly after at 06. Otherwise, I'm sure they might have labelled gold series games as MH-11, CN-12 and LN-13 Hope you can follow this, sorry if it's a little out-of-focus This is what I understand about their numbering system. Any other comments I would be interested to hear! pulse8

I have to agree with Innis. The reason Nintendo released Manhole gold with this model number is that they probably decided to abandon the silver series completely.

P.S. Nice to see you back Pieter!

I have seen a CN-17.
It was the CGL Headache, the model on the back of the game was CN-07, but the processor chip inside the game was clearly labeled CN-17.
I wonder if there was any difference in game play between CN-07 and CN-17 chips?

I am almost tempted to open up every g&w I own to have a look at chip model no. ;D Who knows what Nintendo reserved the no's we don't know (e.g. 9-20, 31-50, etc.) for. Interesting story!
