Hi guys, i am sure if he sold it on, he would NOT get more. It don't want to bring up the whole "value" discussion again ;D It's a beauty and very valuable no doubt, but not worth the price Paul paid. Especially when you compare it with the latest boxed toss-up and boxed fireman fireman auctions. I'm not gonna reveal the price here, i'll leave that up to Paul if he wants to. If you guys want to know how I know this, well....Taki offered me the item too. Mattijs

This item is unvaluable if it really is the one and only. Of course: the price Paul paid was ENORMOUS and I would not even be able to cough up a tenth of the price he paid, BUT I am sure this little beauty will double in price within a year IF no others pop up. In the whole history of collecting g&w's a boxed Mego Flagman NEVER turned up. And look at the condition of this one!!!! WOOOOOOOW!!!! It truly is an unbelievable find! ;D Congrats Paul! Best regards, sAner Ps- I also don't understand why Taki let this one go! ???Maybe he found a few hundred and we can all buy one for 50 usd in about a month?? ;D

yer, I agree, toss-up and fireman fireman I've seen a "few" of boxed in the last year, if memory serves me correctly the last toss-up went for about 700US.
But I have never seen a boxed flagman mego.
This item makes a boxed EGG look common... It's probably worth the price.... time will tell.

Hi Guys, Thanks for your comments. It is a truly super piece, I was so surprised at the mintness of it. And the colour (Blue), I did not expect that!!! As to price, who knows. I paid a fortune for it, even considering todays crazy prices. Will it be worth more in time? I couldn't say. If we never see another one, then maybe. If Taki has another five, then most certainly not If that did happen, then that's the way it goes. The price does not matter really as my intention is not to sell it. If I ever did sell my collection I think I would hold onto a few rare and mint items and this would be one of them. It would be great if a couple more were out there, so others could enjoy this fantastic piece, so don't worry guys, I don't mind if you pick one up for half of the price It might be possible, because previously, when rare items have appeared and the price has gone to an unbeliveable finish, shortly after others appear. There must be someone somewhere sitting on another one of these? And when they hear the price I paid, I bet you will see it on the bay - mark my words. Regards, Paul p.s Michael, no problem, I'll send the pic's over straight away.

Hi Guys, It might be possible, because previously, when rare items have appeared and the price has gone to an unbeliveable finish, shortly after others appear. And that is exactly why this didn't make it to e-bay. The whole world doesn't know about it (and it's final price) So chances are smaller this item will appear on e-bay again shortly.... Mattijs

Hi Mattijs,

I think I get what said, but can you explain again.
Regards,
Paul

Allright, here's an explanation:
what if this mego boxed flagman did got on e-bay? How many people would see this item? How many people would see the final selling price?
What will happen is what happened to flagman and more recent the mickeymouse pano. Maybe not to that extent, but it's likely that 1 or 2 might show up shortly after the auction.
With a growing number of people knowing about the value, the chances increase of more e-bay appearances, with possible lower prices as a result...
So for the rarest items, a "low profile" is better for maintaining the presumed rarity.
Just my 5p.....

Ah Yes Mattijs. I agree, that's what I said. The more people that find out about it being rare and how much many it made, anyone with one in the loft or in their own private collection will be rubbing their hands together!! And you may see some on ebay soon. Fingers crossed for you guys. But if there are no more (especially in this condition), then who knows!!!!! I'll start the bidding @ $5000!! Only joking. Whatever happens, I am happy and it's a great addition to my collection, even though it was a tad expensive P TO THE A TO THE U TO THE L

I agree with you Mattijs that it was a pretty smart move for whoever bought this item to buy it outside e-bay. And that's exactly what Paul did. Your explanation explains it all and makes a lot of sense! Regards, sAner

Guys, come on, this is the find of a lifetime, especially in this condition! From what I know none of the top collectors have one in their collection (well Taki may have one and I've never seen one in a photo, let alone in an auction! Boxed toss-up and fireman fireman have appeared in various auctions (I think I've seen 4 or 5 of them the last 4 years) so the prices aren't comparable! Michael

What does everything think something like that Flagman would go for on the ebay? I am sure that big spenders like Josef would pay a hefty amount for that.
Over US$2000? 3000?
