Just saying a quick "Hi" to you guys, it's certainly been some time since I last made an appearance here!!! I've still got the grand total of 5 Pocketsize & 1 French variation to my collection. I have these displayed in a nice wall mounted glass dispaly cabinet- looks very nice actually! I've been avoiding "everything" computer related for a while now as it only tempts me to spend money that I don't have / can't warrant spending. My Girlfriend and I have split up so I am now having to support myself in the big bad world and also make sure my son doesn't do without either. So buying games that just sit there and do basically nothing isn't high on the priority list at the moment, although I do still hold hope of returning some day still to come. I'm making some quite drastic changes work wise. I just enrolled for an Electricians course for this coming September, and in theory would like to roll on with a Degree in Electronics or something similar afterwards. The building trade is a thriving industry here in the UK and I want my taste of the cash! I don't know what drew me to the computer tonight, basically just letting you know that I'm not lying "fury & Green" in some hole 6 foot under just yet! It's nice to see so many familiar faces still hanging round, I'll be back to join you some day in the future- you can count on that! When? Well that's a not so easy to answer! Take care guys! Ross (life_is_disease)

Hello Ross, nice to see you again here. Sorry to hear about your split up, it's difficult, I know and buying game&watch games seems so useless now. I hope everything goes well with your life and that you'll be visiting the site more often.

Hey there Ross, It's great that you showed us a sign of life! I know we once agreed to to that on Spinal's forum remember that? I am also sorry to hear about your split up. I hope everything will be okay in the near future. --> At least England is through to the quarter finals. Regards, sAner

Thanks fellas, it's nice to have some words of encouragement! And 'YES' I do remember that topic of conversation sAner my friend, I do indeed. As for England? well we might be through but no doubt we'll stuff it up again like we did with France, we always do! It would be great to see them get through to the Finals though, this country would go mad, COMPLETELY MAD! Michael: I see that you have a POKKA Mario Bros in your collection now. Do you mind if I ask how much you paid for it? Where did you get it from? Just curious mate as these were the kind of items that I would be searching for if (& hopefully when) the chance allows me to do so again. Have I missed anything good? Any NOA Punch Outs or Pocketsize Turtle Bridges? ?? Or even better the elusive Tetris? ?? Just curious to know if I've missed any big / world altering finds? I could in theory still collect now, I'm not quite that broke! I just don't want to do anything half heartedly. I like the gems of the G&W world! & as we all know these are far from being cheap! Has anyone else dropped out, or are the same old faces doing the rounds in the forums, IE: QJ, Jon, Henry, Kevin, Alan etc etc...? See you guys again soon! (Hopefully) Ross.. PS Nelsonry: Sorry mate I couldn't respond to your PM for some reason. But I'm afraid not, nice try though!

Ross, We haven't heard much from Kevin lately and also QJ has been absent since he became a dad. Anyway, remember you said Devster was a fool for paying 1500 USD for a boxed Flagman? --> www.xs4all.nl/~sane/expensive_auction/xpensiveFL02boxedEVER.mht ;D ;D ;D ;D As for England: don't worry too much mate! You've got Rooney. I am sure you will at least reach the semi finals. Living in NL ... now that's always though when soccer championships are being played. My God: why are we stuffed with the lamest coach EVER? Keep visiting this forum Ross! sAner

Hi Ross, I've just sent you another PM to clarify what I said about your wants in the buy/sell club. If you still can't reply, drop me an e-mail at:

As for the matters of the heart, just move on and you'll find another who may be different but be more worthy of your love. People go away. The heart changes. Who knows what will happen in our future? The only constant is change

Hi Ross, Jon here alive and well. Am in an internet cafe in BERLIN (of all places) ;D thoroughly looking forward to a smashing quarter final against Port. in which we repeat the scoreline of 1947: www.euro2004.com/tournament/matches/round=1582/match=1059188/index.htmlTo change the subject dramatically - Prices have gone mad on G&W, although (to be fair) the quality also seems to have gone up (IMHO) so not that surprising. To change the subject dramtically (again) : Sorry to hear about your troubles. I can thoroughly recommend pornography & Wimbledon as a positive course of action to see you through the short term. After that, perhaps Morris Dancing? When you have trained as a NICEIC (?) electrician I may have some work for you installing the lighting for "Game and Watch World" A themepark I am planning in Cornwall. Whaddyasay? Enough crap from me - I have to drive to Hannover now. These autobahns are great ;D Looking forward to your next post.

Just curious mate as these were the kind of items that I would be searching for if (& hopefully when) the chance allows me to do so again. I don't mind at all. I paid about $120 (can't remember the exact price) and got it from a guy in yahoo japan. After I got mine, I saw 2 more auctioned in yahoo japan. One ended a lot higher and the other one a bit lower (about $110). Since you've asked, a rare mizuno vermin was auctioned in yahoo japan some time ago. Most (if not all) collectors were unaware of its existence. No boxed punchout and no rare pocketsize games have appeared lately (only the usual ones like dk,dk2,dkjr, etc). Michael

Ross,
Great to hear from you after all this time but sad to hear about your partner. I always remember you as the Pocketsize king ! which in a way tempted me to get my hands on one but since then I've stayed away from them (too many big players now that I can't compete with). Still I'm happy collecting silver boxed items which I never thought would be possible. As you probably imagined prices are going through the roof and some of the old skool have disappeared from the scene which makes me wonder if I've been hanging around too long.
Keep in touch and let us all know what you're up to.
Henry.

Henry, come to think of it, you're one of the last of the old ones! QJ has sold most of his collection and rarely visits the forum or buys stuff, Ross the same, Kevin has dropped out completely, Marcel visits the forum every now and then but he isn't participating in the scene actively etc. The only one I see buying stuff from time to time is Torsten. Come to think of it, I'm becoming one of the old ones myself! ;D Michael

Let's not forget WWFGoober (Alan I think). He's been around for a while. BTW he's the only G&W collector that like me likes Doctor Who. I remember him mentioning it one time. I've got over 100 videos (some quite rare) but you either love it or hate it.
Also Mike I can't believe that I've only done one deal with you and none through Ebay. That just proves how many dealers are out there at the moment.
(Sorry 2 deals, I forgot about the MTJ deal)
Henry.

Yep I'm still here and I'm sure I will be for a long time yet too. I'm not planning on going anywhere in a hurry.
I'm a huge fan of Doctor Who and I'm really looking forward to the new series next year. I just hope they haven't made it too different from what it used to be. I have almost every video available plus a few dvds as well. If you happen to want any let me know.

Dr. Who fans - It's my time to gloat ;D My mother worked on Dr. Who as the costume designer for a number of years (we're talking back in the 60's). She was the one who designed and produced the original cybermen costumes. I've seen some original sketches for them - funny!! ;D ;D OK I've had my moment pulse8 (Perhaps this should have been in a new thread, like 100% off topic... )

Wow how cool is that. I don't suppose she happened to requisition any of the old 60's memorabilia while she was there did she? It would be worth a fortune now.

Nice one ! The cybermen are evil sods! especially in 'Earthshock'. I found a site where you can buy replica's of K-9, Daleks and cybermen outfits. They aren't original but are made by the same guys who made the original props back in the 60's so are pretty good. A Dalek is around £2000 and K-9 is about £800
Again space in my house has put a stop to this (along with my girlfriend wielding a carving knife) and as I said before if I had the space it would be devoted to an original upright Space Invaders machine or Phoenix.
Alan,
I don't really think there are any more videos that I want. I think my prize has to be a 1984 release of 'brain of morbius'. Not sure its value though.
Henry.
