Hi. I've recently found my nelsonic / mz Berger super Mario brothers watch. Put a new battery in it and everything looked good. However I realized quickly that the set button didn't seem to work. Mode works great BTW. That's not such a big deal because I'll just remove the battery sometime and replace it right at noon or midnight. Next thing was to play it. Started a game and moved up to the second level where there is a trap door that you have to time your run across. Strangely no matter what it's like that trap door is open. I try to move across and it just drops me down to the lower level. Weird huh? Any one ever see anything like this? Any suggestions on how to fix?

Hi there. Those kinds of issues are generally too hard to fix. Most likely a chip issue, or an LCD issue in which that particular segment is permanently dead. If you're really attached to the game I suggest finding one on eBay. This one I've seen sell between $30 and $50 if you keep your eyes peeled. www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Nelsonic-Super-Mario-Bros-wrist-watch-game-/272065375263If you're familiar with taking these type of watches apart, you might want to disassemble it, carefully wipe the button contacts and LCD contacts with rubbing alcohol, put it back together, and test it to see if that particular segment comes back to life. But I know from experience it can be very frustrating to take these tiny machines apart for multiple reasons. Ash

Thanks for the reply! It's definitely not a dead pixel as the bridge appears, i just cant cross it. I tried doing it randomly even to see if the bridge being there just didnt coincide with actually being able to cross it. If that makes sense.... Anyway, i guess i have a decision to make as far as being willing to possibly break it to fix it. Are there any pictures of a disassembly that you know of? Just would like an idea of what i could be getting myself into.

Sounds like a chip issue then, so it's probably impossible to fix. I suggest selling it on eBay "as is" and using that money towards buying a used one that actually works.
It's a long shot, but try resetting the game with a paper clip or tweezers by putting one end on the reset contact and the other on the battery. A lot of digital watches have this feature but I'm not sure about SMB.
