Hey guys, I already know the answer but wanted to ask you anyway. I have a silverscreen in good condition but WITH moisture damage to the silver back drop. I know the only option I have is to replace this faulty back drop with the good back drop of another silverscreen. Do you possible know another option??? Back drops of other g&w's (which are less valuable and can be destroyed for the back drop) won't fit behind the glass of a silver screen. That much is clear. Please tell me you know another good/cheap solution! Regards, sAner

Saner,
Which game is it ? I have a few loose silver games not doing anything which can go cheap (to a good home). You can then do a bit of mixing and matching. Can't promise anything but let me know.

Hey H!
It's a Vermin! But I just realised that silverscreens don't have a back drop, do they? I have once opened up a Toss Up and it had no back drop. Do all the silverscreens function without the back drop? Can anyone tell me?

Pieter, you mean the silver leaf behind the lcd screen right ? All silver games had one. Since this is damaged, it can't be repaired so throw it away. You can replace it by another leaf from a silver or gold game.

They're made of the same stuff, so I don't see why not.

Mike,
I have a Toss Up which functions perfectly but hasn't got a back drop ... Are you sure this game orginally had one? I am almost 100% sure I purchased this game from a seller who originally bought it in a store and this seller never opened the game. Did the Toss Ups come with a back drop aswell? Even the first versions?

Pieter, how can you see the black lcd characters when there's no silver leaf on the back ? It's there only to provide the necessary contrast and all games need it.
I've thought of cutting a wide screen one too but it just wouldn't feel right of keeping an "incomplete"/"repaired" item in your collection.

Hey Mike, It's a long time since I opened up that Toss Up (more than a year ago) but I am almost 100% postive there was no back drop. But you're right though: how can the LCD's be visible when there's none .... I will open the game once more when I feel like it and let you know. Regards, sAner
