Hi
I wanted to start this thread to know the errors and omissions that may have been there during the design and production of these games. Does anyone have an idea as to any errors or some design patterns that could have improved these games. Are there any unwanted design that could have been avoided to save costs? Are there any parts that were made expensive by their design which could have been avoided?
Any ideas are welcome.
Regards.

I know of two offhand: 1) The Green Judge error: There is a situation with Green Judge in which one player is only awarded 1 point for a certain action, while the other player is awarded 2 points for the same action. It's funny, because a leaflet was included with Green Judge explaining that it was a handicap, so that the more talented player could play on a certain side, so Nintendo was trying to cover up their error. Later they corrected the error when releasing Purple Judge. 2) Gold Helmet "Ghost Mode" Error: There is a trick in which I won't go into detail about how to perform, in which two men appear on screen, but one of them is a "ghost" because the tools don't knock him down. This trick doesn't work for some Helmet games because it was corrected later in the manufacturing process. They can be identified as such by opening up the game and checking the number on the chip. A chip marked "CN-07" indicates the trick can be done, while a chip marked "CN-17" indicates the trick cannot be done. I'm wondering if the chip number was also changed for Purple Judge when they corrected the error. Ash

Nice. I dint know this Ash. Also i have been able to find design flaws.
1. In a dual screen game. The metal plates on the lower screen can be removed by a push in the whole provided in the plastic body for the left hand side. While doing this the right hand side plate cannot be removed in this fashion. Nintendo did not provide a hole to push up the metal plate for the right hand side. It has to be dug out in order to replace it.
2. The polarizer lcd filter for Dual screen games need not have to be cut in that particular transformer fashion. A simple rectangle filter would have solved the purpose. By giving it that particular shape nintendo must have put in a lot of labor hours which could have been avoided and reduced the cost maybe by a fraction. I guess the filters were mass produced for Widescreen, gold and silver series which was then used for dual screens as well.
