Wow! Why would he do that? Anyway, I suggest you get what you need right now and not everything unless he can make you a good deal. What are you looking for?

Nothing in particular mike.. This collector wants to sell his spare parts collection and i happen to know him.. I have seen the painstaking he's done to collect them.. Actually he loves the spares more then the games!! weird but true.. So just trying to negotiate a deal with him.. The spares are fantastic. Just need your guidance as to a future investment? Is it worth investing?

Serial numbers as sparepart. Sounds suspicious :-)

He has peeled the serial numbers and kept them for disposal.. Say's can or might be useful for pasting on the one's which dont have any.. Jus so to give the game an original feel.. Better to have then not to he says.. apart from them this is a huge collection of spares.. Should i go ahead with this investment?

I don't see the point, personally. The purpose of the collection is to make complete any non-complete game you might purchase on your travels. In 10 years of collecting I don't think I had more than about 5 or 10 games which were missing parts. The amount you've listed there is complete overkill, unless you can get the whole lot very cheaply. Probably the most valuable items would be the boxes, as a boxed came can be worth a lot more than a loose one. Without having more details of the boxes, it's hard to put a value on the job lot but I wouldn't attach much value to the rest, purely due to the miniscule chance that you're ever going to need most of it.

You can add me as well to the list of people that find such a collection practically useless. Hmmm... what kind of collector would peel off serial numbers and then hold on to them to add them to other games that they don't belong to? I don't like the sounds of that at all! Unless you had some sort of expectation to be in a position to have to be making a lot of repairs to G&W games, this sort of purchase would be overkill. Sure, the odd time you might need a battery cover or some buttons, etc... but, parts like those can be rather easily obtained just from buying a loose game. Just my two cents. AC AC

Well, Aris has made a huge effort collecting various serial numbers from games and has created a database than can more or less tell us if a serial number belongs to a certain game or not. So, experienced collectors would probably find out about a misplaced serial number sticker and you'd be frowned upon if you ever decided to sell a game with one on it. An item is collectible only if it's complete with its original parts. This guy is obviously no game&watch collector otherwise he would understand what I'm saying and would never remove those stickers..
From what I can gather this guy is asking a lot for this.. junk and I'd pass on the offer..
