Discovered yesterday I have a multi screen Mickey Donald which is dark yellow on the inside, instead of white. No, it is not caused by aging = yellowing, it is for real dark yellow. I've unscrewed it and it's the same color on the inside! It's hard to photograph properly, sorry for bad pic. Also, very interestingly, it's 10-15 grams heavier. As soon as you hold it in hand you feel how heavy it is. I've asked the owner of gameandwatch.ch, he has spotted a few of these in the database and seen one himself, but has no further knowledge. Both him and me are very curious, what is the background, does anyone know, does anyone have one (or seen one)?

The colour is not unusual. As Mike has stated Linda, a lot of games that have been stored inappropriately (e.g. in direct sunlight, or even in smokey or damp areas) get this kind of colour to it. However, I asked Linda to take apart the game and see if the OTHER side of the normally white plastic part is yellow, and if it is, then, I would say that it's definitely NOT sun damage, so, as it's also the same colour on the other side, we can rule out sun damage. Any other ideas anyone???
It's interesting, not quite the same as, but similar to the white SS/CG in a way. But what is also peculiar, is the fact that it's heavier. Why would it be heavier???
Hmm......

Hello,
This is not uncommon. I Had some decoloured games before. White plastic has the tendancy to become yellow because of light or in-home smoking. The first causes different shading on the game (open/closed). The second can be on all sides equal.
Heavier with or without batteries ?
Grtz,
Beni

Well, 16 grams is not much, could be for various reasons, after all we don't know whether every mickey&donald ever made weighted the same!

16 grams heavier than what? Another Mickey & Donald?
The colour is nothing to get excited about. Think about the Tabletop or panorama light panels, they change to exactly the same colour with the right conditions (whatever they are!). Same for Donkey Kong Jr Tabletop. I've seen white and yellow version of those.
Can't explain about the weight though. I have 2 theories - 1. Somebody has previously opened the case and put something inside - doubtful as there isn't much room! 2. Either the case or the insides are of a design that was changed and some are heavier than others. Perhaps a very old circuit design that had more chips? You'd need to compare 2 Mickey & Donalds and weigh individual parts to see where the difference is.

The panel could be of PIN BALL.. Modified with the name plates.. Pin Ball has this kind of color to it and the panel manufactured was very weak.. Mostly all pin ball has this defect of color and weakness..

Actually Andy might be on to something since the motherboard in the games changed over the years. I think the last editions were slightly different compared to the earlier ones..
