I noticed there is a blue Mickey Mouse wide screen game on the back of certain wide screen boxes. I have Chef and Parachute boxes with the blue Mickey on the back.
Mike, I noticed the 2nd edition Chef box on your FAQ has a blue Mickey, but is not mentioned in the description. The blue Mickey Parachute box I have doesn't seem to be in the FAQ.
Does anyone know about these and if they're rare or have an interesting story behind them?
Thanks!

I don't mention all differences between editions in my FAQ, just few of them, enough to separate one's boxes.. Yes, I've noticed the blue mickey mouse on the back. I'm not sure why they did it for certain game boxes. Egg was blue so maybe it has something to do with that..
The 3rd edition parachute box in the faq is the same as the 2nd edition. I got all photos from Torsten's site and I noticed that but didn't have any other photo to use. You probably got a proper 3rd edition box.. I had the same problem with Octopus..

That's an interesting point about Egg. Never thought about that.

I never noticed the Blue MM on the back of any of my boxes, and I just looked at all of my games, and the ones that do have a pic of MM on the back, have it in red (a couple actually look orange rather than red, and it's not a fading issue IMO) not blue. I wonder if it really is an edition difference?
Good observation Ash!

I'm not sure Aris, the boxes with the blue mickey on the back could have been released alongside Egg in specific countries.. Impossible to know.. Ash, do your boxes come from Japan?

Michael Most likely. I know the Chef is because it comes with Japanese instructions. The Parachute doesn't have instructions, but it's probably the Japanese version. Both boxes have a serial number on the big flap.

Aris, do your boxes come with serial numbers on the flap? Michael Hey Mike, I just checked all my WS games that come in the gold-coloured boxes, (there are 9 of them) and only three (Octopus, Popeye and Chef) had serial numbers stamped on the large flap (box serials). But yeah, no Blue Mickey. Maybe they only show up on "Matching Serials" boxes??? Um... Damian? AC

Well, my chef has a blue Mickey on the back. Japanese version, serial stamped on one flap, but not matching serials.

The serials aren't matching on mine either.

Well, my chef has a blue Mickey on the back. Japanese version, serial stamped on one flap, but not matching serials. Here's another Japanese Chef with a Blue Mickey on it: Looks kinda neat if you ask me! AC

AC Hey guys, Just to add more confusion to the mix, I have checked my Matching Serials Octopus, Popeye, Chef & Fire (the boxes that have Mickey Mouse displayed on the back, don't have an MS Parachute) and the only 1 to have a 'Blue' Mickey Mouse on the back is Octopus, Japanese version. Box : 3570362, Game : 05703611 Damo

I have a MIB octopus bought to a japanese seller, with instructions and paperwork in japanese. And the Mickey is red. No matching serials tough.

Well, it is obvious that there's no real significance to it. At first I thought that all japanese releases have the blue mickey on the back but it seems this isn't the case. On the other hand all games with a blue mickey on the back come from Japan so it seems that some boxes there were released this way..
