I think I was watching some of these OEM auctions. Someone got a great deal on one of them! Okay, I don't know if I was the first to see this guy's auctions, but, I'm sure I was one of the first few.... The very first one I did notice was NOT a BIN auction, but was actually done by "regular" auction, and that's the one that ended the cheapest. Taki won it for only $46 USD! It was a 5 day auction and he was the only bidder on it! I didn't bid on that one b/c I thought it would end higher for sure, but, right after he listed that one, he started putting more up as BIN auctions, and Ash, the one you recall for around $70 might have been the one that I won. ;D It was for $76 to be exact! But, there were others that ended in the $70 range, one was for $70.99 and there was one more for $76. I believe the seller sold a dozen of them: One to Taki for $46 One to babymario10 for $70.99 One to me for $76 One to Romain for $76 One to Simon for $80 One to Richard for $80 One to Simon (again) for $89 One to Coup_de_coeur_80 for $89 One to babymario10 (again) for $89 One to handhelds for $89 One to Mathieu for $99 One to Fred for $99 All in all the guy sold everything for about a grand ($1000 USD) and if he overcharged on shipping by $10 like Coup_de_coeur_80 NEG'd him for, then he made more like $1100!!! I wonder how much he paid for them??? AC

Maybe he got them for next to nothing years ago. It would be interesting to know the story behind them.

That's what I have on file so far, but I did not go through the database very exactly (so there might be more): Auction No. 190366569460 had a BIN, but first bid did remove it. - Patrick

Interesting that price went up in every subsequent sale! I know nothing about the inside box serial.. Anyone else observed that before? Michael Yes, I have. When I posted pics of my collection, I was going to include a pic of that part of the OEM box, but, realized it wasn't unique, since both OEM boxes I had (at that time) had the same alphanumeric code. It's TO6FO3FO1F What I don't know for sure is if the "O" is a "0" (zero). But, based on how it's shaped, I'm sure it's an O, and not a 0 (zero). I'm guess this number is the same on all OEM boxes for at least SMB. Does anyone have an OEM box with a different number on it? What about your Patrick W? And Paul, you have DKII (or is it BlackJack??), does it have the same code on it? AC

Hmmm... must be some sort of code stamped by the manufacturer of the box itself. Definitely not a code to represent editions or even serials of a box like the number stamped on the large flap of certain G&W boxes.
Runepune, can I get the serial for your OEM SMB please?
