Well I remember that you could play the games in shops before you bought them. I know I went to a shop with friends and played the games, just can't remember what ones. Wow, your memory is pretty good for an old fart! Yeah, I remember that too, but not at every store that sold them. One in particular had several of them set up on a bit of an angled counter, and the game was attached to a bit of a raised platform (to allow you to get your hands around and under the game itself). Mario Bros. Fire, Parachute, Popeye and Mickey Mouse are some of the games that come to mind that I recall seeing. BTW, when you say that you went to these shops "with friends" were these real friends, or imaginary friends? Bwah-ha-ha! ;D Good to see you here Paul! What's going on with your collection? I know you sold a lot, but what's left? Anything?? Are you even still collecting??? AC

PS Hey Mike, you say there are 2 editions? Can you expand on that please? I guess Mike is refering to these ones: Patrick Hi Patrick, That's the two different editions? Well, in that case, I have both editions then!!! I guess the "1st edition" must be the one WITHOUT the "Super Mario Bros." written on it, then they must have had an "all company meeting" and discussed questions like: "how can we improve the OEM box?" and "Can anyone think of anything that's missing?" and then voila, a 2nd edition (or separate edition if you will) is released with the genius idea of including the actual name of the game on the outside of the box. I guess they realized not everyone knows the games by their model numbers only. I know I don't! Thanks for the info. PW! AC

Ok, for me it's rather obvious that what Andy suggested isn't a plausible theory for numerous reasons, the most obvious one beeing that we haven't seen any other games in oem boxes ever.. If the theory that Nintendo shipped the games in these boxes to distributors so that they could pack them in the localized releases was true, then first of all oem boxes wouldn't be so rare. Secondly, I can't think of a localized or special version of blackjack besides the pocketsize one of course (which comes with english instructions btw).. Thirdly, super mario bros comes in a multiscreen foam enclosed in a mutiscreen plastic bag!! Last but not at all least, why would Nintendo ship millions of games in these boxes and waste all that money where they could have invented something more cost-efficient.. ? No, this theory isn't at all plausible in my mind..
The sample game theory has its problems of course but as I explained earlier, imho I don't think Nintendo wanted to offer all games as samples to every shop in the world. That would be a huge waste of games, don't you think? They had to choose. I don't understand why they would choose blackjack but then again I don't understand many things japanese people do every day in their lives so.. Some shops did let you play with a few of the games before purchasing them but that wasn't common and it was up to the individual shop owner. I can't remember any shop in Greece doing that.. All I can remember was drooling over the glass cabinet they were displayed in..

Blimey when you look back and remember nobody could stand you (what some people still can't!!! ) when you first came on here. But now look at you, top dog, got all the chat, all the lines, everybody's favourite guy. I can hear them now, You the man - get in the hole, there goes Aris, he's superfly! Well I don't buy it. Hiding behind your subtle jokes with your etc etc. all making it look so innocent. You've picked on the wrong bloke tonight buddy and I aint taking this sh*t no more. So go take your "I just Binned it for $15" PS Collection and put it where there the sun don't shine no more! As for your question though..... Yes I still keep my hand in. With my usual skill though I tend to forget what I have, what I sold and change my mind half way through whatever it was that I was doing!! Like recently you told me what PS games I had sold!!! A bit like Michael I'm planning on keeping the rarest of games. Although I sold the Yellow Magic! So.... that means I will have to try and buy back or find the few I recently sold, only two or three I think. Slightly annoying really because if I had not sold those items I would have a complete PS and NOA collection If anyone is interested I will be selling my remaining shippers and my blisters shortly, so hit me back. L8R PD Oh yeah? Bring it English man! Bring it!! ;D Now there's the Paul we all missed!!! Thought you could do your "one post and disappear for a few months" thing eh? Well, a couple of jabs at that English pride of yours and lo and behold, Paul has not only visited more than once today, but he also posted more than once!! ;D "There goes Aris, he's Superfly" LOL! I like that! Reminds me of this: So does this mean when I visit the UK later this year or next year, I can't stay at your house anymore??? Regarding your PS games, other than a few that you sold in 2007 and 2006, the only one you sold last year (on ebay anyway....) was a rather nice Popeye. So, if the 2006 & 2007 PS sales were "extras", then, you only need a PS Popeye to complete your PS & NOA collection. How about this one? It would look amazing next to the rest of your minty PS/NOA games: cgi.ebay.ca/Game-and-watch-popeye-nintendo-RARE-BOXED-POCKETSIZE_W0QQitemZ230431492729QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_VintageComputing_RL?hash=item35a6c98a79I think the taped ends are a nice touch! (no offense David) AC PS For someone who's trying to keep the rarest of the rare, selling the "Yellow Magic" and the only known White CG game is not a good start! Get with the program, okay?

Hello, I just received today an OEM YM-105 I bought on e-bay to an american guy called "crebs1975". This guy sold about ten OEM YM 105 last two weeks. How is it possible ? He sold the two different version. For me, I received this one : but a friend of me in France received the other version (with Super Mario Bros written on it) from the same seller !!! Now, I have some question about my game : First of all as you can see "YM 105" is printed in the wrong way : is it possible ? Second, Myke says : "super mario bros comes in a multiscreen foam enclosed in a mutiscreen plastic bag!!" but my game as you can see is enclosed in a new wide screen plastic bag. Is it normal ? All the rest seems to be normal, for information serial number of my SMB is 23368640. Thanks to all of you for your future response, and sorry for my very bad english (but you know I'm french). Superfly guy from S-Express I know, I have it on vinyl, but I have no idea what cartoon fly thing is you attached a link for. "only in the UK" I guess.... AC

Matthieu -------------------------------------------------- My blog "Ninthandold" consacré aux Game and Watch et aux Game Boy : ninthandold.over-blog.com/Hi Mathieu, I too purchased one from him, but haven't received it yet. I inquired with him about his stash of OEM games, but all he responded with was "feedback?" (I haven't left him feedback yet) So, I guess he's not willing to share any information about where he got his games from. I think the version you have is the earlier edition of the OEM SMB. Mike said there were two different editions, and it only makes sense to me, that the one you have would be the 1st edition. I have two OEMs already, and one is like yours, and the other is like your friend's, so, I guess I technically have both editions. And yes, mine is also printed upside down like yours, but, I'm not sure why they printed them like that. The second edition one is printed the other way, so, it's the opposite of the 1st edition. As for the bag issue, I don't think it was stated anywhere that the bag was a Multi Screen bag (I just double-checked the FAQ, and it says "The game (wrapped in a plastic bag)...." ), just the foam tray is Multi Screen. Thanks for the serial number btw!!! If you're able to get your friend's serial too, that would be great! And if anyone else bought an OEM SMB from this guy, can you give me the serial number so I can add it to the Serial Number Database? Thanks in advance, AC

I was watching his auctions too. I believe he started with a BIN of $59.99 and every time he sold one he listed a new one and raised the BIN with $10.

I didn't see any BIN prices, but I know one guy scored one for about $70 in an auction.

"I was watching his auctions too. I believe he started with a BIN of $59.99 and every time he sold one he listed a new one and raised the BIN with $10. " That's true price is going from 59 $ to 99 $. All has been sold by BIN, no auction. Seller's name was crebs1975. -------------------------------------------------- My blog "Ninthandold" consacré aux Game and Watch et aux Game Boy : ninthandold.over-blog.com/
