Has anyone got or seen a running price guide for what the real market values are for G&W? Loose & Mint boxed.

I don't think that many people bother with price guides any more, do they? Prices vary so much they wouldn't be accurate most of the time. However, Pat's game and watch database at gameandwatch.ch which attempts to record every ebay sale of every G&W. It includes prices so you can see a history of prices over the last few years. That will help you.

Thanks Andy. That is quite a good guide on the website. The serial number tracker is very interesting too. Cheers Shane

I don't understand people who use price guides for collectible items.. I mean prices always depend on demand and demand changes all the time so how can a price guide be accurate all the time? And if you take in account Ebay, where some auctions are more difficult to find than others, price guides are completely worthless..

It's all very well saying that if you've been collecting for 10 years, Mike. But for a beginner, they do provide some value. Even if it's just to make sure you don't pay way over the odds for a common game. I remember when I first started collecting, I didn't have a clue how much any of the games were worth. As far as I was aware, silver fire could have been worth the same as wide fire. And the way the clueless sellers big up their auctions saying that they are the only game left on the planet, etc, etc, it's easy to go wrong. And before you say it, some people don't know how to use the completed search!

Well, I've never seen a price guide with quoted prices that are remotely near market value ones, have you? The reasons why we could never create a good price guide are the same reasons why all price guides are obsolete the moment they are created..
