Hi all
I was just listening to 'Rock the Casbah' by The Clash and I noticed what sounded like a G&W sound effect used as a sample in the song. It was rather musical and I think it could be Balloon Fight or maybe Climber, but I'm not too familiar with those games so I can't be sure.
If you want to check it out, it's near the start of the song and it's repeated quite a few times.
Andy.

Andy, are you referring to the sound at 1:54 through to about 2:14 of this video? If so, it does sound G&Wish!!! It's definitely not Climber, but, I think you may be right about it sounding like BF! Nice catch! AC

Yeah, that's it. I definitely recognise it, but then I've played hundreds of LCD games over the years! It's a shame we didn't see one of the band members with it in his hands.....

Yes, it's probably from a game&watch.. Was this sound originally there in the song ? I've heard this song lots of times and never spotted it! Michael

It's not a song I listen to a lot, but it was on a compilation album I got recently, so I can't say if it's a recent addition or not.
I'll have to dig out climber and see if it's that one. Goldcliff sounds likely as well, that's quite tuneful, isn't it?

It sounds to me like a basic digitised version of of the american Civil war song 'Dixie'. I don't know, but if there was a LCD game of the Duke of Hazzard, it probably appeared on that. Listen to the tune again......see what you think.

I thought it sounded like Dixie as well. It's possibly a musical alrm on a digital watch, which might be where I've heard it, but then again there are a few notes missing. The General Lee in Dukes of Hazzard only played part of the tune, but this sample is even shorter than that, so I don't think it's anything to do with the Dukes, more likely a coincidence that it sounds like it.
