I was going to add this post to the 'nice items on ebay' thread but I didn't because: 1. it's not on ebay and 2: it may make a nice thread of it's own. I've been meaning to look for one of these on ebay but kept forgetting. I looked today buy didn't find one. I found this picture, though, does anyone remember it? Chutes away - I had it when I was about 10 I guess. The idea of the game was to control the rescue plane and drop parachutes onto the tagets which were people in distress. The board revolved and you looked through an eyepiece which contained a periscope looking directly through the bottom of the plane. You could pull and push the plane forward and back to line it up with the targets and then pull a lever to drop the chute. You had 10 targets and 10 chutes. Getting 10 out of 10 was quite difficult. The design on the revolving board was quite intricate and realistic. Definitely on a part with PS lifeboat! My friends and I used to act out each 'rescue' after dropping the chutes. Ah, bless! Andy.

Interesting, I don't think it was ever sold here though. I can remember lots of toys I used to play with when I was little but I'm not sure about their international name.. I don't want to go quoting greek names, I'll try to look for some photos..

I don't think they ever sold that game in NL, Andy. When I was 10, this was where I spent most of my time on: When I was 11, I switched to this: When I turned 14, this was my world: And later on this: Then came these: And I remember these from when I was 7 or 8:

Well, my first home computer was an amstrad cpc 6128 with a green monitor (the colour one costed too much at the time for me!). Used to spent countless hours playing games but it was also my entry to the world of computer languages. My greatest achievement was creating a tetris games with the machine's limited Basic.
My next machine was a PC XT with big 5 1/4 bendable floppies (lol!) and never owned another machine besides a PC after that.
Well, that was until three years ago when I bought an XBOX! Now I own an XBOX360, a PSP and a Nintendo DS. Oh yes, I still own the xbox as well! Unfortunately I don't have the free time I used to when I was a kid and could play all day long with my Amstrad..

I remember those 5 1/4 floppies aswell. I used them for the external drive I had for the Amiga 500! I still own the Atari 2600 (+countless games), the A500, the A1200, the PSX1, the PSP and the DS. I regret having sold the MSX Toshiba though. Regards, Pieter

For me it all started with the electronic games: my very first game was Nintendo Fire, then followed a couple of other games including Banana and solar games from Bandai (Airport Panic, Terror House and Frankenstein)...
Then I got my first computer an Amstrad CPC 6128 with color monitor - I spent a lot of time playing and programming. I later switch to IBM PC compatibles with a series of laptops and desktops.
I also got to the console world with a Sega Megadrive, followed by a Nintendo Super NES, and later a Nintendo Game Cube and a Nintendo Wii!
I also got into the handheld consoles with a Nintendo Game Boy Color, then a SNK Neo Geo Pocket Color, a Nintendo Game Boy Advance that I bought in Japan, then an old store Sega Game Gear, a Bandai Swan Crystal I bought in Hong Kong. I then got a used Nec PC Engine GT and thought of seriously starting a collection of handheld consoles!!

Most of you have probably seen my Mattel Intellivision on my website. I've had this since about 1980-ish. It was a Christmas present between me and my two brothers. We've added to it over the years and have the extremely rare computer keyboard and musical keyboard. I still play it every now and again. I get just as much fun out of it as with the modern games! I also had loads and loads of star wars figures and vehicles. I owned the AT-AT which was really cool but I grew out of it and sold it for peanuts. I wish I still had it Andy
