I'm pretty sure that paypal CAN and DO charge back to your card if they need to refund someone and you've withdrawn the money. I've read about ot loads of times. I'm sure you'll find all the details on paypalsucks.

No they can't Andy. Even if they do it, phoning your credit card issuer will solve the problem immediately as you won't have authorized this transaction and you'll get your cash back for sure. I don't know what people have reported in paypalsucks. Some things may be lies only to defame paypal - who knows ? The fact is, if you don't authorize a transaction (sign on the receipt or press the submit button in paypal) they can't get any money from your credit card..

yer, but it's not hard to do when you agreed to there legal stuff when you signed up, im sure theres a para or two in there about you pre authorising it if required...

Well, I don't know how it works but I know people who it has happened to. Perhaps you do waiver some rights when you sign up, like Brendan said? Andy.

Yes, I'm sure paypal have included a couple of such paragraphs in their terms of use but credit cards cover your loss in cases where money are withdrawn without your consent anyway..
