As I write this there have been reports all over the news that London has suffered 6 explosions: 5 in the London Undergound railway system and an additional one in a double decker bus. I know that there are a number of British collectors here, so I hope you and all your families are OK. Please check in to let us know! My mother (who's fine, thank goodness!) and two of my close friends (not heard from them yet) are over there at the moment; I'm sure others who visit here have friends and relatives there also. I'm looking forward to hearing good news from everyone! pulse8

Yeah, I heard that there were 5 explosions (2 on the underground and 3 on buses). They're not confirming the dead yet but early reports say that it is over 20 and rising. Really upsetting news Iain EDIT: They have now confirmed that so far only 2 people have been killed.

Hi Guys, I've got family and friends working in and around London and everyones ok thank God. As I am sitting at my desk at work I have seen at least 15 ambulances go past as well as fire engines and police cars. We are about 15 -20 minutes away from the scenes, so if that many emergency services are being scrambled from here, there must be hundreds at the scene!
The bus that blew up was a tourist bus and there have been some unconfirmed reports of another bus going up aswell. 6 explosions in total including one in the tube station. Apparently there are loads of medical staff going into Aldgate station.
2 official dead (at aldgate) and 90 injured. Reports of 20 dead are floating about. By the looks of things I think it will be worse than that, but I hope it's not. Fingers crossed.
People who do this this sort of thing are scumbags.

What a tragedy ... I also hope all collectors in the UK and their friends and relatives are okay. It's good to hear from you Paul. I just spoke to Andy and he's fine aswell, thankfully. What's the world coming to? Regards, Pieter Edit: I heard the Euro Parliament (Borrell) spoke of 'a great number of dead people'. Let's pray, this is not correct.

That total has been updated to 50 casulties (Which is still expected to rise) and an amazing 7 bombings instead of the previous total of 6!! The people responsible should be lined up and shot without question.
I sincerely hope all UK forum members, their family and friends are all okay.

Is it the work of terrorists? If these explosions happened earlier 2012 Olympic will not be held at London

BBC has the latest: news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4659093.stmAwful news - I checked with a few people I know who work in central London, and they're all fine - just don't know how they're going to get home. Al-Qaida is responsible I reckon... They'll say hundreds of innocent iraqis lost their lives in the war...... Cowards (whoever did it).

As most have said, awful thing that happened in UK.
Supposedly latest toll was 30 dead and 300 injured. Hope that doesn't get higher.
Guess this war is going to stay with Bush being president.

When I heard the name of the tube stations I was shocked! I was in London last year, in April and I used Russell's square and King's cross all day, every day for 5 days (my hotel was 3 blocks away)! Amazing!
Paul I know how your cousin must be feeling right now. Some years ago, while I was waiting for the bus to come in the center of Athens, after about 10 minutes, I decided to take a taxi instead of keep waiting since I was a bit late for an appointment. When I got home I was shocked to hear that a bus broke down, breaks weren't functioning, and it hit the very same bus stop I was waiting only a few minutes ago! 5 people were killed and around 15 injured.. :eek2:

God really does work in mysterious ways ... I don't believe in coincedence and in luck or bad luck. I would turn Innis thesis the other way around; when your number is not up, it's not up. And if that thesis is wrong then you were just incredibly lucky Mike! I remember that accident in Athens. It was also in the Dutch news.
I have heard a voice (can't say if I really hear it or whether it's just in my head) which has saved my life at least one time. It goes a bit far to explain it here as even my family and gf think I am mad ....
On telly I heard people in London are picking the thread of daily life up again, even after just one day. I think that's great! It's the way to show these cowards we will never bow for terrorism!
Regards, Pieter
