And a 350D, forget it, the price will be high until the next one comes out...... ebay is a good a place as any, if you want one cheap. Andy. The price isn't that high here in NL Andy. Only 899 without the kitlens. That's 'only' 250 a 300 euros higher than a new 300D, but the 350D is way better. Remember it is not just an improved 300D with 8 million pixels. For starters i has AI servo! VERY useful! Regards, sAner

Yes, but for what Mike wants, the 300D is more than good enough. and is cheaper which is important to Mike.

Well i also do not want to buy a camera that will be considered a old in a few month...
The cheap price i want is under 1000 euro for a camera.
I'm currently putting my choice on the 350 which is the same price as the D70 (almost).
Now there is something that is really interesting for me on the 350 compared to the 300, the wheight (and the 8mpix)...
as sAner said, there is not a big difference... and i already have seen a 350D with classical lens for less than 850 euro (have to remember where though) ...

Ok, you want a cheap 300D, well I want a 350D, make me an offer for mine..... easy..... It's about 6 months old, A1, std lense, 256MB CF card, origional c10 box, papers etc... I believe the powersupply is universal, as it comes with the other power cords etc.

What F stop did you use? I find the higher the better, if you don't compromise the shutter speed, but then again I'd probably try and use some type of tripod etc...

lol... thanks to exif information all is in the picture... indeed, i used f5.6 (even if i have to say that i DO NOT KNOW what this mean ) Pieter for the limitation, i have to agree that One photo a day is really few... BUT... the wheather in here is HORIBBLE and i can't take beautifull pictures outside. => lot of pictures of my son and of my GW but none of the nature... i must agree that i also spend most of my time in trying the camera and the software that where given with it. The weather forecast for this week end seems to say : FULL SUN... thus expect more pictures (close-ups) next week... another point is that i'm loking for a lens that could fit my needs for zooming such as sigma 70-300or Tamron 70-200or canon 70-300 DO (difringent optics)(ordered by price) any idea? well also say that i have created a new forum dedicated t photography with EOS350D canoneos.proboards3.com/index.cgiYou are all welcome... Mike

Heya Mike! I hope to see many more pictures from your hand! The F-figure determines the DOF (Depth Of Field) of the photo. A low F-figure means a large/wide aperture which causes a shallow/short DOF. A high F-figure, means a small aperture, which causes a long DOF. I bought the Sigma AF 100-300/f4.0 EX APO. It's very expensive (retailprice in NL EUR 1.456,-- but I bought it directly from the factory new for EUR 799,--) and it's perfect. It's the lens you see in the picture. It's heavy (1.2 kilos) but very stable and all glass inside. Great! It makes picture like this: www.treknature.com/gallery/Europe/Netherlands/photo14338.htmand this: www.treknature.com/gallery/Europe/Netherlands/photo12494.htmRegards, Pieter
