2-2 who'd have thought it possible! It is a shame that Italy are out but I think this Euro04 is continuing to show that the big gaps in world soccer are narrowing fast. That can only be good news for soccer! Nobody likes predictable results.. this is exciting and fun.

Hey Mike how about you create a general discussion forum, so people can make some threads about other topics to get to know one another?
As an Australian we often see on the news the riots / fighting related to soccer and other games in the UK, is it all really that bad?
We Australians love out football (Australian rules), but I cant remember an incident where fighting has occured as a result of a game.... ;D

Not all Australians love Australian Rules football. In fact, quite a lot of us think it is the most ridiculous, boring game imagineable, almost matched by rugby union and rugby league for it's ability to cure insomnia.
Soccer is the only football and always will be.
On a side note, the team I play for are up to 3rd in our table. A win this Saturday will almost guarantee us a spot in the end of season playoffs.

Sorry, Slash, but I'm gonna have to agree with the goober man here. I live in Melbourne and can't stand Aussie Rules! Actually, I don't follow any football, but I find them all equally entertaining as each other! I prefer to watch Rugby League, if anything. As they say - "Why is is called FOOTball when you use your hands? " ;D pulse8

LMAO! ;D ;D ;D Did you watch the scene in yesterday's match where Trapatoni started yelling at an uefa employee when he learned that the other match was 2-2 ? Hahaha! Incredible! Nobody believed that Sweden and Denmark would do it, but they did (and why not ?) and now Italy is out of the tournament.
To be frank, Italy didn't deserve anything better. They only played well for half an hour or so against Sweden and that's it.
Michael
P.S. Not so long ago, I offered to create another general chat forum but noone was interested. It seems that people visit other boards for general chat and come here only when they want to discuss about the gw games. Feel free to create off-topic threads if you want to though.

England against Portugal. Let's see if Rooney is a one game wonder or if he is Pele's worthy successor as some English papers claim.

Thanks a lot Mike and Paul! I am so glad that NL is still in this wonderful tournament. It's a nice tournament imho: loads of great goals and cool suprises (Greece through, Rooney the new superattacker, Italy, Germany and Spain out). NL is so soccer-minded (and so am I) and everybody here is just so extremely happy! But could you believe the Czeck rep.? Man, they are good! The only A-player was Galasek and all the others were substitutes, even the keeper. I bet they will reach the final and even win it. Paul: I will keep my fingers crossed for tonight's game! I told you earlier that I always support England whenever they're not playing NL. I give you guys a very good chance and then ... maybe you will face us in the semi finals! Wow, that would be something! I guess you understand I will then have to support NL, right? Cheers and have a great soccer-night tonight! sAner

Ok, I should have pointed out that I also hate football, I was trying to say "in general". Generally speaking a good percentage of the population does like football regardless of how "we" feel... hell theres enough crap TV programs dedicated to it.... Maybe there is a common theme between football and G&W collectors...
