There's a percentage of our guests who come here to learn a few things about the games. That's why I think it's necessary to make such information more accessible. I've inserted a few links on the top of the main page and my goal is to insert some more. If you have any suggestion or you think something should change, please let me know. I take all opinions under consideration although sometimes this isn't so evident! Michael

I've received no reaction for the newly added links and I wish to know if you think they're ok. If you have any kind of FAQ or anything else that you think it should be linked to in the front page, let me know. Mike, I think you'd created a Ji21 FAQ or not ?

It's not only handy for new collectors. I've used it a couple of times myself the last days.
Before you've put up the links, I needed to browse through the forums, to find the info.

Thanks Rene, what else do you usually search for and do you think I should put another link on the front ?

Although there's a link to your full FAQ, Mike, I think a simple 'master list' would be a useful post for new members looking for information. They might not want to look through the whole FAQ.

What do you mean master list Andy ? Of the games ? It's there in the very first link!

I think Andy means a small summary of the FAQ.
For someone who is just browsing for fun, or someone who is thinking about starting a collection, the FAQ is too long.
Btw, I can't think of anything else at the moment that you could link, Michael. It's fine for now, maybe I'll come up with something later.

Well, I started creating a text-only small version of the FAQ not so long ago but due to lack of time, I abandoned the idea.

I'm talking about the good old fashioned single page list of series, model mubers, titles and release dates. The sort of thing we all referred to before people put in the effort to write full-blown FAQ's. Judt to show a total beginner how many games there were and what they were called, without them having to go through the full-blown FAQ. Like thisAndy edit: I see the link you mean now, Mike, but it wasn't that obvious, i.e. not in the 'dummies' section. Plus it's more a list of your games and not a general list.

Andy, you don't make any sense. What "dummies" section ? It's right there in the front page! Where am I supposed to get photos from if I can't do it from my own collection ? The purpose is clear and the result is clear too. The master list is there and it includes photos.

Oh, forget it, I thought we were talking about the 'G&W for dummies' section. Isn't that the area you set up for first time visitors?
Andy.

Oh, forget it, I thought we were talking about the 'G&W for dummies' section. Isn't that the area you set up for first time visitors? It's only accessible for registered users, though, so it'll be of limited use to first-time visitors. Unless you meant first-time registered visitors.

OK, well, I'd say just the release dates need adding to the master list, then.
Oh, you've done it..... Looks good now.
I'm so used to looking down at the main forum sections, though, that I hardly notice the new links. It's difficult to say whether a new visitor would immediately notice them.

I think a new user would notice them. You visit the forum regularly so new links might slip your attention. Anyway, they are there for anyone that might need them.
